Jim Ross has asked fans to keep him in their thoughts as he prepares for another brain procedure on Wednesday morning.
The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that doctors need to address an issue with the shunt implanted during his surgery on August 12. The shunt was fitted to drain excess fluid from his brain after he experienced balance problems and repeated falls.
Sharing the news on X, Ross wrote:

Ross had recently discussed his recovery on his Grilling JR podcast, explaining that although his surgical incision was healing well, he was suffering from increasingly difficult headaches. Some had been severe enough to wake him during the night.
He was scheduled for a CT scan ahead of an appointment with his neurosurgeon before announcing the additional procedure.
The veteran announcer has also been dealing with other health concerns, including a mass on his kidney and lingering problems following cancer treatment.
His medical appointments and recovery have affected his availability for AEW appearances. Ross was unable to travel to London for All In in August and watched All Out from home on September 26.
For now, his focus remains on Wednesday’s procedure and his recovery. Everyone at WNS wishes JR well as he takes this next step.
