The independent wrestling community is remembering Charlie King, known to fans as Chicken Finger, following news of his passing.
Alabama-based New South Pro Wrestling announced the news on October 3, sharing a heartfelt tribute to a young performer who was still in the early stages of his career.
“We would like to give our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Charlie King, aka Chicken Finger. We are reminded that life is so short and fragile when we see someone with so much youth and potential taken away from this world so soon.”
Although King had only recently started appearing for New South, the promotion said he had already made a positive impression. Its tribute highlighted his dedication to learning and the happiness he brought to those around him.
“While he was new to us, he was a bright spot on several Alabama promotions as he was learning his craft, making new fans, paying dues, and being a joy to others in and out of the ring. Thank you and rest easy, Charlie 💔”
Known by the nickname “Straight Out the Fryer,” King entertained fans with an energetic, high-flying style. His appearances included Rocket City Championship Wrestling and other Alabama promotions, where he was building his experience and connecting with audiences.
No further details about his passing were included in the announcement.
Everyone at WNS extends their condolences to King’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.
Fans who wish to share a memory of Charlie or leave a message of support for his loved ones are welcome to do so in the comments.
