Seth Rollins has three years remaining on his WWE contract, but he is already exploring opportunities that could help shape his career beyond the ring.
Speaking to Sports Business Journal, the former World Heavyweight Champion discussed balancing wrestling with his growing presence in sports media. For now, he is enjoying the chance to pursue both.
“Right now, I’ve got three years left on my WWE contract. I’ll be 43 when that’s up.”
According to Sports Business Journal, Rollins also has an ESPN agreement covering a set number of appearances across its programming, including First Take, Get Up and SportsCenter. He has also become a familiar face on Good Morning Football.
Those opportunities have given Rollins another outlet for his personality and passion for sport, although he has no immediate plans to make a permanent move away from wrestling.
“What I will not do is say I’m stopping wrestling and now I’m doing sports media,” he said. “I want to continue at this game in WWE while also continuing to field offers [in sports media] and see where that goes.”
Rollins has been absent from WWE television since SummerSlam, though he recently competed on the company’s South American live-event tour.
While his current deal gives him plenty of time to consider his future, he acknowledged that a larger sports media role could become a factor when his next WWE contract comes up for discussion.
“Once we get closer to the next contract with WWE, it’ll be like, ‘OK, what does this look like? Is there any interest from an ESPN for a bigger role or something that’s more substantial, something that can provide for me after pro wrestling?” he said.
Until then, Rollins appears happy to keep building his broadcasting experience alongside his WWE career.
“Right now, I’m very happy where I’m at and that I get to do both.”
