Dominik Mysterio has secured another chance to reclaim the AAA Mega Championship, with a rematch against El Grande Americano confirmed for Heroes Inmortales.

The event takes place on Saturday, October 24, at Gimnasio Olímpico Juan de la Barrera in Mexico City, with three championship matches announced so far.

Dominik earned his opportunity during the October 3 episode of AAA on Fox, teaming with Omos to defeat Americano and AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio. A victory would guarantee Dominik a title shot, and he used every opportunity to get it.

After pulling off his father’s mask, Dominik struck Americano with the Mega Championship belt while the referee was distracted, securing the win and his rematch.

The rivalry intensified after Americano dethroned Dominik at Triplemania 34 on September 13 at Arena CDMX. With the assigned referee knocked down, Rey stepped in to count the deciding pin.

That finish prompted Dorian Roldán to open Saturday’s broadcast by demanding that Rey overturn the result and hand the championship back to Dominik.

“Answer one question. Were you the official referee, yes or no?” Roldán asked.

Rey responded that his role as general manager includes overseeing all referees, but Roldán was not satisfied.

“Your answer is no. And since you didn’t have a referee license endorsed by the Lucha Libre Commission of Mexico City, if you don’t reverse your decision and recognize that the champion of this company and the true Mega Champion is Dominik Mysterio, I am going to take legal action against you.”

Americano instead proposed the tag team match, giving Dominik a route to another championship opportunity.

Elsewhere at Heroes Inmortales, Los Perros del Mal’s Daga, Angel and Berto will defend the AAA World Trios Championship against AAA Latin American Champion La Parka, Mr. Iguana and Niño Hamburguesa.

Rey Fenix will also put the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship on the line. His challenger will be decided on the October 10 episode of AAA on Fox, when Nobu San, Mini Vikingo, Jack Cartwheel and Joaquin Wilde meet in a four-way number one contender’s match.

Fenix previously retained the championship against Cartwheel, Mini Vikingo and Nathan Frazer at Triplemania 34.

The event will also honour Marisela Peña with an induction into the AAA Hall of Fame. Her brother, AAA founder Antonio Peña, died in 2006, and Heroes Inmortales is held annually in his memory.

Dominik headlined last year’s event with a Mega Championship defence against Dragon Lee. This time, he returns as the challenger.

The announced card is:

• AAA Mega Championship: El Grande Americano (c) vs. Dominik Mysterio

• AAA World Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Fenix (c) vs. Nobu San, Mini Vikingo, Jack Cartwheel or Joaquin Wilde

• AAA World Trios Championship: Los Perros del Mal (Daga, Angel and Berto) (c) vs. La Parka, Mr. Iguana and Niño Hamburguesa

• AAA Hall of Fame induction for Marisela Peña
