Marina Shafir will challenge Miyu Yamashita for the EVE International Championship when Pro Wrestling EVE presents Elite Encounters 2 on November 8.
The Death Riders member heads to The Hanger in Wolverhampton, England, for a showdown that has been brewing since All In weekend. Shafir attacked Yamashita from behind at EVE x The World 2, giving the champion a score to settle.
Yamashita successfully defended her championship at TJPW Wrestle Princess VII on October 3 before calling out the AEW star. Speaking after the match, she made it clear she was willing to put her title on the line.
In comments translated from Japanese, Yamashita said:
“We won! Overall in the match, I was being overwhelmed by Arisu, so it was all about grit in the end. Normally I don’t come up with strategies or anything, but this time I did plan one out, but it got completely dismantled from the start. Next, I think we’re going to England in November. Since I defended this belt today, Marina, [I will] put this belt on the line, face me.”
Three matches have been announced for Elite Encounters 2, with AEW talent involved in every bout:
EVE International Championship: Miyu Yamashita (c) vs. Marina Shafir.
EVE Championship: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Kay Lee Ray.
Hyperactive (Anita Vaughan and Safire Reed) vs. Brawlin’ Birds (Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter).
Fans can watch the event through MyAEW as a one-off pay-per-view, priced at approximately $9.99 or £7.35, with VAT, taxes and fees extra.
The show will also stream live through EVE’s Champion Tier on YouTube. That option includes access to the promotion’s back catalogue.
