Dragon Gate will honour PAC with a memorial ceremony at its Korakuen Hall event in Tokyo on Friday, October 2.
The promotion announced that a 10-bell salute will take place before the show, giving fans and wrestlers an opportunity to remember someone who became an important part of the Dragon Gate family.
“[PAC Memorial Ceremony] In tribute to PAC, who passed away on [September 27], a 10-count gong will be rung before the start of the tournament.”
Dragon Gate played a major role in PAC’s rise, serving as his wrestling home in Japan during the late 2000s and early 2010s. He returned in 2018 following his departure from WWE, with that run continuing into 2019.
Friday’s event will air on Dragon Gate Network and is scheduled to feature Kzy defending the Open The Dream Gate Championship against Yoshiki Kato in the main event.
The promotion has also shared two matches on its YouTube channel to celebrate PAC’s career. Fans can revisit his 2019 Open The Dream Gate Championship defence against Kzy and his 2011 Open The Brave Gate Championship match with Ricochet.
Ricochet also remembered their friendship during AEW Dynamite’s tribute show on September 30. Reflecting on their time living together in Japan, he described PAC as being like a big brother to him.
PAC, whose real name was Benjamin Satterley, died on September 27 at the age of 40. His official cause of death remains pending additional testing.
In its statement mourning his passing, Dragon Gate paid tribute to both his influence on other wrestlers and the memories he created for its fans.
“We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of PAC and offer our heartfelt condolences. Many wrestlers have looked up to you and used you as a role model, inspired by the many memorable matches and countless spectacular moves you left behind. The wonderful performances you showcased in the DRAGONGATE ring will be remembered forever.”
“You will always be a part of the DRAGONGATE family. We extend our deepest sympathies to your family during this time of grief, and on behalf of all the wrestlers and staff, we pay our respects in memory of your achievements during your lifetime.”
