Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley shared an emotional reunion on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, putting their differences aside as the company paid tribute to PAC.
Danielson made a surprise appearance following Moxley’s successful Continental Championship defence against Orange Cassidy. Wearing a PAC tribute shirt and armband, the former AEW World Champion walked to the ring with tears in his eyes.
Moxley initially greeted his former Blackpool Combat Club teammate with a stern expression. Danielson waited for him to stand, and the pair briefly stared at one another before embracing as Moxley struggled to contain his emotions.
The moment brought a heartfelt pause to their bitter history, with remembering their friend taking centre stage.
Danielson’s appearance was particularly significant given his limited presence on AEW television in recent months. The physical toll of his wrestling career has made travelling difficult, and he had last appeared at August’s All In at Wembley Stadium.
Wednesday’s broadcast honoured PAC, who, according to the report, died on Sunday, less than a day after competing at All Out in Chicago. No cause of death had been established.
The evening began with an emotional tribute from Excalibur. AEW also aired a backstage promo recorded after All Out, featuring Moxley alongside PAC and the rest of the Death Riders.
Reflecting on his defeat to AEW World Champion Will Ospreay, Moxley spoke about wrestling, AEW and making the most of life.
A 10-bell salute followed before Moxley faced Cassidy, another wrestler whose AEW career included memorable encounters with PAC.
Danielson and PAC also shared the ring in singles competition during the July 2024 Owen Hart Foundation tournament. Danielson won their semi-final encounter, adding another chapter to their shared wrestling history.
