Rick Achberger, known to wrestling fans as “WWE Sign Guy”, has passed away, according to a statement shared by Lance Peterson.

Peterson announced on X that Achberger died on Sunday, September 27, 2026. He remembered him warmly, highlighting how much he enjoyed talking with fellow fans at wrestling shows.

Peterson also said Achberger had faced health problems a couple of years ago before his condition began to deteriorate rapidly last month.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of WWE Sign Guy Rick Achberger, today Sunday 9/27/26. He was an absolute great guy and loved talking with fans at the shows. He tackled some health problems a couple of years ago, but last month began to go downhill rapidly. Rest in peace.”

No cause of death was given in the statement.
