Steven Borden's AEW PPV Debut Ends in Referee Stoppage as Fletcher and Knight Earn Tag Team Title Shot

Steven Borden's AEW pay-per-view in-ring debut ended in disappointing fashion at All Out: Chicago, as he and Darby Allin suffered a loss to Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight via referee stoppage.

Borden began the match for his team after Fletcher insisted that Allin tag in the rookie. Despite competing in his first AEW PPV match, Borden showed flashes of potential against the more experienced duo, connecting with an arm drag on Kevin Knight before following up with a dropkick.

The momentum quickly shifted, however, when Fletcher powerbombed Allin onto the steel steps at ringside.

Later in the contest, Knight attempted to hit Allin with a Coast to Coast. Borden attempted to intervene from the opposite side, but the two collided in mid-air.

Following the collision, the referee determined that Borden was unable to safely continue the match and called for the stoppage. The decision awarded the victory to Fletcher and Knight.

With the win, Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight have officially earned a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championship as the new number-one contenders.

For Borden, his first AEW PPV appearance ended prematurely, while Fletcher and Knight emerged with a major opportunity in the AEW tag team division.
