Persephone’s mystery challenger at AEW All Out could be a newcomer with her sights already set on championship gold.

According to Self Made Pro Wrestling, Dani Luna is expected to answer Persephone’s open challenge for the TBS Championship at the September 26 pay-per-view. If the report proves accurate, Luna would make her AEW debut with an immediate title opportunity.

The report follows earlier updates linking Luna to the company. Fightful Select reported on September 16 that she was expected to sign with AEW, before a subsequent update stated that she had agreed to join the promotion more than a month earlier.

Luna became a free agent after requesting her release from TNA earlier this year. The former TNA and WWE NXT UK performer has since competed on the independent scene, with fans already discussing her as a possible opponent for Persephone.

Several other potential challengers have been ruled out. AEW has stated that Maya World, Hyan and Thunder Rosa cannot answer the open challenge. World is currently unable to compete, while Hyan and Rosa were scheduled to face Persephone and Britt Baker on Dynamite.

All Out takes place at NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. For now, Persephone’s title defence remains an open challenge, with Luna’s involvement reported but not officially announced by AEW.
