Drake Gives John Cena a Shout-Out in Unreleased FOMO Track

John Cena has received another shout-out from Drake, with the WWE legend’s name appearing in a preview of the rapper’s upcoming solo project, FOMO.

During a YouTube livestream on September 15, Drake played around six unreleased tracks. Among them was “I Know What’s True,” which included a nod to the 17-time world champion.

Showing off his watches and jewellery, Drake rapped, “Chrome belt, look like John Cena in here.” He also displayed his belt buckle, adding a visual touch to the reference.

The line appears to draw inspiration from Cena’s famous spinning WWE Championship. With its diamond-encrusted design and rotating centre plate, the customised title became closely associated with Cena during his rise as one of WWE’s biggest stars.

His “Doctor of Thuganomics” persona brought wrestling and hip-hop together, making him a fitting name for Drake to drop while showing off his collection.

This is not the first time Cena has featured in the rapper’s lyrics. On his 2023 song “Wick Man,” Drake used wrestling wordplay to describe his emotional struggles.

“John Cena wouldn’t know emotions I wrestle with,” he rapped.

Cena has previously acknowledged Drake too, sharing a photograph of the musician on Instagram without a caption. As with many of Cena’s unexplained posts, it left fans guessing about the meaning behind it.

For now, the latest mention gives wrestling fans another crossover between WWE and the music world, with Cena’s signature championship seemingly providing the inspiration.
