Kevin Nash has explained why he rejected a proposed hologram tribute to Scott Hall, saying he believed his longtime friend would not have wanted it.

Speaking on the latest episode of Kliq This, Nash recalled being the deciding voice against the idea. The tribute apparently came from WWE, with co-host Sean Oliver suggesting it could have been used during a Hall of Fame ceremony. Everyone involved needed to agree before it could go ahead.

For Nash, the decision came down to knowing Hall for three decades and believing his friend would have protected his wishes in the same situation.

“Well, of course, because it was Scott,” Nash said. “Because I don’t think... I spent 30 years of my life with Scott, and I know Scott wouldn’t let them do that to me. Scott would have been like, ‘Nah, Kev wouldn’t want this.'”

The subject came up during a wider discussion about AI avatars of deceased musicians. Nash said he believes artists should give permission in their wills for their likenesses to be used that way, even if surviving relatives approve.

He also explained that the timing of the Hall proposal made it particularly difficult.

“The Scott thing was so fresh too. Like, Scott hadn’t been gone very long,” he said. “I just believe in letting people that have passed, leave [them] the f*** alone, man. Because they don’t get a say-so. It’s always going to be their fing people. It’s going to be somebody that’s profitizing from that image. And I just don’t... I think that’s fed up.”

Nash has previously placed the proposed tribute around WrestleMania 38, less than a month after Hall’s death in March 2022. At that stage, he did not feel ready to take part in a tribute to his best friend.

Hall died aged 63 after suffering multiple heart attacks. His wrestling legacy includes two WWE Hall of Fame inductions: individually as Razor Ramon in 2014 and alongside the nWo in 2021 as part of the class of 2020.
