Sol Ruca Explains Why She Is Considering a Second WWE Finisher

Sol Ruca is considering adding another way to win matches, although the Sol Snatcher will remain her main finishing move for now.

Speaking on Huge Pop, the former WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion explained that having such a recognisable finisher can create a challenge. Fans may become so focused on seeing it that they struggle to believe a match could end any other way.

Ruca said she is working on her expressions and the emotion behind her performances to make those moments more convincing.

“I’ve definitely had that thought before. However, I feel like it’s all about everything else that you do in the ring and with the emotion that you’re putting behind it. Because yes, sometimes the fans might not bite on a falsey that I do with someone because they know it’s not my finish.

“However, if you put the emotion behind it, if you’re pinning the person like, ‘This is it,’ and then they kick out and your face changes, I feel like that’s how they bite into it. It doesn’t always have to be my finish in my mind, and that’s kind of what I’m working towards more, is working on those character bits and those facial expressions so that people aren’t just watching and waiting for the finish.”

As for a potential second finisher, Ruca has already given it some thought. Rather than another aerial move, she could turn to a submission or something that showcases her strength.

“I definitely have. I think if I were to have a secondary finish, it probably has to be something that’s not high-flying, maybe a submission or more of a power move, because I do think that my finish, I don’t know if I could top that, at least not right now. Unless I can think of something else. But for now, I think that is gonna be my sole finish for a little bit.”

Ruca now has Money in the Bank in her sights. She secured a place in next month’s women’s ladder match in New Orleans by winning a triple threat qualifier on the September 7 episode of Raw in Birmingham, Alabama.

That victory followed two singles defeats to Raquel Rodriguez in Women’s Intercontinental Championship matches. Rodriguez took the title from Ruca on July 27 before retaining it against her in their August 31 rematch.
