Roxanne Perez has revealed that her chance to compete in AAA first came when she was just 16, but her parents felt she was too young to take the opportunity.

Speaking to MuscleManMalcolm, the 24-year-old WWE star reflected on the invitation and how she spent her teenage years preparing for a career in wrestling.

“Everybody knows that I started training really young. I started training when I was 13. And I knew that I couldn’t, starting that young, you know that you can’t really get too many opportunities because you do have to wait until you’re a legal adult. So I think my mindset was just like, okay, I know I have a couple years to go, but I’m going to use all of these years to get as great as I can, so when the opportunity comes, I’m so ready.”

That dedication caught AAA’s attention, with the promotion inviting Perez to train and appear on its shows. While the offer meant a great deal to her, she understood her parents’ hesitation.

“So when I was 16, I actually got invited by Triple A to come and be a part of it and train there and be a part of their shows. And that was so special to me because that was like one of my first opportunities that I got on the indies. And I wasn’t able to walk through that door because I was so young, and my parents were just not fully about all of that yet. Understandable.”

Years later, Perez is embracing another chance to make her mark in the promotion.

“So I didn’t get that opportunity, but now, now I’m kicking the door down, and I’m here, and I’m not asking anybody for permission. I’m here, and I’m going to take over Triple A. Just watch,” Perez said.

The Judgment Day member recently defeated Nattie, La Hiedra and Faby Apache to earn a shot at the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship at WWE x AAA Worlds Collide.

It will be familiar territory for Perez. Back in 2022, while competing as Rok-C, she challenged Deonna Purrazzo for the AAA Reina de Reinas title in a match that also put her own ROH Women’s World Championship on the line.

Now, another opportunity awaits as Perez looks to turn her long-standing connection with AAA into championship success.
