Omos secured his return to AAA by defeating Rey Mysterio at Triplemania 34 night one, before ending the show with a brutal attack on the wrestling legend.

The match in Las Vegas carried major consequences for Omos. Victory would see him officially reinstated, while defeat would force him to leave AAA forever.

Interference from Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano gave Rey an opening to land a 619 followed by a frog splash. However, Omos powered out of the pin attempt, stopped Rey’s momentum and delivered a chokeslam to secure the win.

The punishment continued after the bell. Omos dropped elbows on Mysterio before leaving the ring, allowing officials to check on Rey and place him on a stretcher.

Omos then returned, cleared the announce table and grabbed Mysterio while he was still strapped to the stretcher board. He chokeslammed him through the table, bringing the first night of Triplemania 34 to a shocking close.

Their rivalry began when Mysterio suspended Omos for attacking the General Manager. Omos ignored that suspension and appeared at Ola de Calor, where the pair brawled at ringside. Mysterio later booked their Triplemania showdown, giving Omos a chance to fight for his future in AAA.
