Roxanne Perez has earned a shot at the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship following a victory on the opening night of Triplemania 34 in Las Vegas.
Perez defeated La Hiedra, Faby Apache and Nattie in a fatal four-way match to secure her place at WWE & AAA Worlds Collide on September 26 in Chicago. She will challenge whoever leaves Triplemania as champion, with Flammer defending against La Catalina on Sunday’s second night.
Flammer played a decisive role in the finish, although her interference did not go to plan. The champion entered the ring and attempted to hit Perez with her title belt, but Perez avoided the shot, leaving Flammer close to striking her Las Toxicas partner, La Hiedra.
Perez then pushed Hiedra into Flammer, sending the champion out of the ring. She followed up with Pop Rocks to claim the victory and book her championship opportunity.
The result sparked an argument between Hiedra and Flammer in the ring, adding tension ahead of Flammer’s upcoming title defence.
La Catalina has been pursuing Flammer since arriving in AAA from CMLL in April, when she confronted the champion on her first night. She earned Sunday’s title match by winning a gauntlet at Ola de Calor last month.
CM Punk is also scheduled to appear at Worlds Collide, where Perez will have her chance to capture the Reina de Reinas Championship.
