Matt Mathews received a rough welcome to WWE RAW when Bron Breakker levelled the comedian with a Spear in front of his hometown crowd.
The segment unfolded during the September 7 show in Birmingham, Alabama, where Mathews was speaking to Jackie Redmond at ringside. The Miz and Kit Wilson interrupted the interview, with Miz mocking the local star and Wilson attempting to bring some “class” to proceedings.
Mathews gave as good as he got on the microphone, telling Miz he recognised him but thought the former WWE Champion had already retired.
The exchange soon turned physical. After Wilson put his hands on Mathews, the comedian surprised him with a hurricanrana. His moment of success was short-lived, however, as Miz delivered a Skull Crushing Finale and left him down in the ring.
Miz and Wilson had little time to enjoy themselves before Breakker arrived. The Vision member charged into the ring and took both men out with a double Spear.
Breakker then turned his attention to Mathews. Despite the comedian having already been attacked, Breakker lined him up and delivered another Spear, leaving the hometown guest flat on the canvas.
