Following hours of conflicting reports, TMZ is reporting that Andy Williams, best known to wrestling fans as The Butcher, has died at the age of 48, citing confirmation from the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Williams suffered a medical emergency while appearing at an Enjoy Wrestling event at Mr. Small’s Theater in Millvale, Pennsylvania. He had been teaming with his longtime tag team partner, The Blade, against TME.
According to the promotion’s account, Williams collapsed at the end of the match. Doctors at the venue immediately attended to him and administered CPR before an ambulance arrived to take him to hospital.
Enjoy Wrestling cancelled the remainder of the show and sent fans home. A representative thanked those who helped Williams and everyone who reached out as the promotion awaited further information.
Williams was known for his work alongside The Blade in All Elite Wrestling. Away from the ring, he also performed as the rhythm guitarist for the band Every Time I Die, connecting with fans through both wrestling and music.
WNS extends its condolences to Williams’ family, friends, colleagues and fans during this difficult time.
