Tate Mayfairs says he escaped without a scratch after falling asleep at the wheel while driving home from a wrestling booking.

The British wrestler revealed the overnight accident on X, sharing images of his wrecked vehicle. His car was written off, but thankfully he reported no injuries.

Mayfairs explained that the promoter had arranged a hotel room for him. However, he chose to make the journey home that night, a decision he now describes as a wake-up call.

“No it’s not a work , it’s the real dangers of the job outside the ring; long drives and late nights. To be clear my promoter had a hotel for me on location but I chose to drive home the same night of my own will. Thanks for those who checked in I got away without a scratch – Greatnes. But a real wake up call to myself and hopefully the rest of the boys – take the hotel , buy the coffee , pull over to sleep if you need to. Thank you God for keeping me alive.”

Mayfairs has competed for PROGRESS Wrestling, DEFY and Pro Wrestling NOAH, alongside a brief stint in NXT UK. He thanked those who checked on him and urged fellow wrestlers to consider the risks of long journeys after events.
