Former WWE star Ridge Holland has revealed that he was asked to accept a 56% pay cut during contract discussions with the company.

The revelation came after Kofi Kingston spoke about the contract offer he and Austin Creed, formerly Xavier Woods, received before leaving WWE.

Kingston and Creed ended their lengthy spells with the company in May. Kingston had been with WWE for nearly 20 years, while Creed’s run lasted approximately 15 years.

Reports previously suggested that the popular duo had been offered contracts worth around 50% less than their previous deals. However, Kingston recently told The Ariel Helwani Show that the proposed reduction was even greater.

Responding to Kingston’s remarks on social media, Holland, whose real name is Luke Menzies, shared his own experience of negotiating under TKO.

“Honestly I think I may have been the first to experience the new TKO version of ‘contract Negotiations’

“56% paycut…. OUCH!”

Holland originally said that WWE had decided against renewing his contract. He was later released before the deal expired following comments he made on social media.

The situation has prompted further discussion about WWE’s approach to contract renewals under TKO.

Kingston and Creed have since joined AEW as New Level, while Sheamus has reportedly rejected a restructured contract and is expected to become available on October 1.

Attention may now turn to other wrestlers approaching the end of their agreements, including Bayley. There has already been considerable speculation surrounding her future and whether she will remain with WWE.

Bayley has been an important part of WWE’s women’s division for many years, both inside the ring and behind the scenes. Losing another experienced and popular performer would represent a significant change for the company.
