Adam Copeland’s Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling debut is officially set, with former TNA World Champion Steve Maclin answering his challenge.

The two will meet at MLP Northern Rising on October 3 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, formerly known as Maple Leaf Gardens.

Appearing at the historic venue will be a bucket-list moment for Copeland. The Canadian star has recently fulfilled two other major career ambitions by wrestling at Arena Mexico and Wembley Stadium.

Maclin accepted the match during this week’s episode of MLP Mayhem.

“Adam Copeland, you just can’t seem to keep my name out of your mouth on social media,” Maclin said. “So if you want to do this, and you really want to do this, Northern Rising, October 3, I’ll see you then. If not, maybe before.”

The rivalry has already become personal. Maclin has described Canadian wrestling as a “feeder system” and questioned why stars such as Copeland leave Canada to achieve greater success in the United States.

Maclin became a free agent after receiving his release from TNA Wrestling in June. During his time with the promotion, he held both the TNA World Championship and International Championship.

Copeland will now compete on pay-per-view across consecutive weekends. One week before his MLP debut, he and Christian Cage are due to defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against FTR and The Young Bucks in a three-way ladder match at AEW All Out on September 26.
