WWE has filed a new trademark application for “WWE Vault” as the company looks to strengthen the branding of its popular archive content.

The application was submitted on September 1 and covers professional wrestling programming distributed through television, websites and other broadcast platforms.

WWE launched its Vault YouTube channel in 2024. It features classic matches, complete shows and rare footage, including previously unseen content from WWE and historic promotions whose libraries it owns.

The company previously faced difficulty securing the trademark because of its similarity to “The Vault,” a trademark associated with a ticketing company.

“Vault” has since become WWE’s preferred name for its archive programming. The collection of classic Raw episodes available on Netflix, for example, is promoted as the “WWE Raw Vault.”

WWE Head of Digital Media Steve Braband admitted earlier this year that the success of the YouTube channel had exceeded expectations.

“The success of that came with no new resources [needed],” Braband said. “We tapped into a few people that were passionate about our archive, saw the engagement on our main channel, and just moved our whole vault to this page. We’re about to hit the four-million sub mark, and it shocks me every week how some content does.”

The WWE Vault channel now has more than 4.29 million YouTube subscribers.
