Athena has made it clear that she is ready to become a full-time member of the AEW roster, with the AEW Women’s World Championship firmly in her sights.

Speaking with the Dallas Morning News, Athena reflected on her historic reign as ROH Women’s World Champion, which has now reached 1,362 days. After dedicating several years to Ring of Honor, she believes the time has come to begin a new chapter in AEW.

“It’s finally time for me to make that forever as well,” Athena said.

“I feel like I’ve given the world to Ring of Honor. I’ve given years of my career being the ‘forever’ ROH champion. I’ve given so much to be the longest reigning champion in the modern day era, the most violent champion of the era. But when it comes to me, I want to do more with AEW. So this means more.”

Athena is not limiting her ambitions to one championship. She wants an opportunity to capture the AEW Women’s World Championship, the TBS Championship and even a future women’s tag team title.

“I want to be AEW Women’s Champion. I want to be AEW TBS champion. I want to be an AEW tag champion to show the world that everything that I’ve done, holding a whole company on my back, climbing to the top of the mountain with it, was all worth it.”

Her determination has only grown following AEW All In at Wembley Stadium on August 30, where her former rival Mercedes Moné captured the AEW Women’s World Championship.

Athena and Moné previously faced one another in the semifinals of the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, potentially setting the stage for their rivalry to be renewed with AEW’s top women’s title on the line.
