randi Rhodes has shared her thoughts on Cody Rhodes’ famous American Nightmare neck tattoo, revealing she does not dislike it, although she would have preferred something considerably smaller.

The tattoo has become a major part of Cody’s appearance and is now one of the most recognisable pieces of body art in professional wrestling. Since Cody first revealed it, the design has sparked plenty of discussion among fans and wrestlers alike.

Speaking with Carmelo Hayes on Shot of Brandi, Brandi explained that she had conversations with Cody about the tattoo and always believed the decision was ultimately his to make.

“Here’s what I said to Cody about the neck tattoo, ‘It’s your body. You can do what you want with your body. However, I wouldn’t do it quite that large if it were me,’” Brandi said.

Cody unveiled the tattoo in February 2020 when he made his entrance for his match against MJF at AEW Revolution.

The large red, white and blue design features Cody’s American Nightmare skull-and-wings logo and covers much of the right side of his neck. It quickly became closely associated with the American Nightmare character and image Cody had developed.

Despite the attention it has received over the years, Brandi made it clear that she does not actually dislike the tattoo. For her, the biggest issue was simply how large Cody decided to make it.

“I don’t not like it, I think it’s his personality. I think he did it because he’s that kind of person. He represents what he represents all the time,” she explained.

Carmelo Hayes then brought up Cody’s previous claim that he had not realised just how large the finished tattoo was going to be.

Brandi, however, appeared somewhat unconvinced by her husband’s explanation.
