WWE Money in the Bank qualifying matches are officially set to begin next week.
During Monday night’s episode of WWE Raw, it was confirmed that the road to Money in the Bank will get underway on the September 7 edition of the show, with the first qualifying matches taking place.
The winners of the qualifiers will earn their places in the traditional Money in the Bank ladder matches, which are scheduled for the October 10 Premium Live Event in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Money in the Bank briefcase remains one of WWE’s biggest opportunities, giving the winner the right to challenge for a championship at a time of their choosing.
Last year, Naomi and Seth Rollins walked away with the women’s and men’s briefcases respectively, with both eventually turning their victories into World Championship reigns.
Naomi waited 36 days before making her move at WWE Evolution. She interrupted the Women’s World Championship match between Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY before successfully cashing in and pinning SKY to capture the title.
Her championship reign was unfortunately cut short when Naomi later announced she was pregnant and subsequently vacated the Women’s World Championship.
Rollins waited 56 days to cash in his contract. He attacked CM Punk and successfully pinned him to become World Heavyweight Champion.
However, Rollins would also eventually have to relinquish his championship after suffering an injury.
The September 7 edition of Raw is already shaping up to be an important night, with the Money in the Bank qualifiers joining a major championship encounter.
