Austin Creed has opened up about New Level’s departure from WWE, explaining that the group simply reached a point where they felt the relationship was no longer right for them.

Creed discussed the decision following New Level’s huge AEW debut at All In 2026 at Wembley Stadium, where he compared leaving WWE to the way relationships between people can naturally change over time.

Speaking during the post-show media scrum, Creed said there was no need to look at the situation as either good or bad.

“I always think about this like personalities and relationships. Different people have different personalities. Those personalities can grow. Sometimes they grow together, sometimes they grow apart. There’s no bad, there’s no good. You are excited about the opportunities you had, the things that you learned, but that relationship no longer was one that we felt we needed to be in.”

Rather than focusing negatively on the end of their WWE run, Creed appeared grateful for the opportunities and lessons they received while also making it clear that the time had come for something different.

That new chapter has taken New Level to AEW, where Creed believes the company's approach to tag team wrestling is particularly appealing.

Creed explained that becoming a tag team wrestler was something he had wanted since childhood, with the idea of competing alongside and helping a close friend or teammate being especially important to him.

He also praised AEW for having established legendary teams alongside younger talent who can eventually carry the division forward.

“So to be able to come to a place that admires that, that wants to cultivate that with legendary tag teams, with young tag teams so when those legendary ones are gone, the younger ones are fulfilling the prophecy and they’re keeping everything going. That’s what’s important to us, so to be able to come here and do that, and that is why we’re here,” Creed said.

New Level certainly wasted little time making an impact in their new home.

The group made its AEW debut at All In on Sunday at Wembley Stadium, joining forces with Swerve Strickland. Their first night ended in championship glory as they won the Trios Roulette Royal and captured the AEW World Trios Championship.

AEW President Tony Khan also addressed how New Level arrived in the company. Khan said he was careful about when contact was made, explaining that he waited until their 90-day WWE notices had fully expired before approaching them and even allowed several additional days to pass.

It means New Level have officially started a very different chapter of their careers, and judging by their championship-winning first night, they have already made their presence felt.
