Mark Henry has cleared up speculation about his WWE status, making it clear that despite his recent appearances, he is not actually working for the company.

The WWE Hall of Famer has featured in several pieces of WWE-related content recently, including the SummerSlam countdown show, where he discussed the blockbuster Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi match.

Combined with his WWE Radio work, those appearances led some fans to believe Henry had officially returned to WWE. However, the former World Heavyweight Champion says that is not the case.

Speaking with ITR Wrestling, Henry confirmed he does not have a WWE Legends contract.

“I’m not on a legends deal,” he said. “I do not have a legends deal; I don’t know why people assume. I do not work for WWE.”

Henry explained that his main connection to WWE comes through his radio commitments and a separate agreement allowing the company to use his likeness.

“I do WWE Radio through SiriusXM. That’s pretty much the only connection. I have a nostalgia deal where I allow them to use my name to make action figures and do video games and that kind of stuff. But I don’t work for them.”

While Henry may not officially work for WWE, he remains heavily involved in professional wrestling behind the scenes.

The 55-year-old continues scouting potential talent and offering advice to wrestlers, something he believes has become an important part of his contribution to the business.

“As far as me, I feel like I maximized everything that I touched,” Henry explained. “And as far as scouting and bringing people into pro wrestling, what I see, over 95% of the time, it worked. So, I understand what works and what will work.”

Henry also revealed that around 25 wrestlers regularly contact him looking for guidance.

“Not to mention, I have 25 wrestlers that call me, and they say, ‘What do you think about this? And what do you think about that?’ And I break it all down to them, and I send it with them, and I let them do it. I don’t ask for money. It’s my way of supporting the industry and helping the industry to be better.”

Henry spent 25 years with WWE from 1996 until his departure in 2021 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018. He later joined AEW, where he worked in several roles before leaving in 2024.

So, while fans may continue seeing the World's Strongest Man around WWE-related programming, Henry wants one thing understood: he is not currently a WWE employee.
