WWE’s reported interest in Richard Holliday remains a talking point, although it appears fans may have to wait a little longer before there is any movement.

Holliday has been linked with WWE since at least July, with speculation growing after he left his boots in the ring following an appearance for GCW, seemingly signalling the end of his time with the promotion.

The 33-year-old has attracted attention from several major wrestling companies. TNA Wrestling reportedly showed interest in Holliday earlier this year, while he also took part in a WWE tryout after making his inspirational return to the ring following his battle with cancer.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, the sources who previously confirmed WWE’s interest in Holliday remain in contact regarding the situation. However, there has reportedly been no significant progress towards actually bringing him into the company.

That means WWE's interest appears to remain, but there is currently nothing to suggest that Holliday has signed a contract or that his arrival is imminent.

Holliday calls himself the “Most Marketable” and regularly interacts with WWE personalities on social media, including Matt Cardona and WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter.

There is currently no indication as to why WWE has yet to move forward with Holliday. One possibility is that the company is simply waiting for the right opportunity or creative direction before potentially introducing him to NXT, although that remains speculation.

Holliday has built up plenty of experience during almost a decade on the independent wrestling scene. Trained by former WWE star Paul Roma, he is perhaps best known for his run with MLW.

During his time there, Holliday notably teamed with MJF before becoming involved in a rivalry with Teddy Hart and The Hart Foundation. He has also competed for AEW and several other promotions throughout his career.

For now, Holliday's future remains open, but with WWE's reported interest apparently still alive, he will certainly be a name worth watching.
