WWE stars Drew McIntyre and Joe Hendry could be moving closer to a return to regular television appearances after reportedly wrapping up filming on a new project.

WWE announced a partnership with ReelShort in July to produce an original live-action microdrama series featuring several familiar faces from the company.

The series will consist of short episodes specifically designed for vertical viewing on smartphones. Drew McIntyre, Joe Hendry and Jacob Fatu are all involved, alongside established microdrama actors Marc Herrmann and Chase Mattson.

WWE has yet to officially announce a release date, although the series is currently expected to premiere in early autumn.

According to PWInsider, filming for the WWE and ReelShort project has now officially wrapped in Los Angeles, California.

With production completed, McIntyre and Hendry could potentially become available for more regular WWE television appearances. Fatu has already returned to RAW and has recently been appearing alongside The Bloodline.

McIntyre has not competed inside a WWE ring since losing to Fatu in an Unsanctioned Match at WrestleMania 42. During his time away from the ring, the former WWE Champion has also been working on other acting projects.

Hendry managed to make one wrestling appearance during August while filming the ReelShort series. His most recent match came on the RAW following SummerSlam, where he suffered a defeat against Bron Breakker.

There is currently no confirmation regarding exactly when McIntyre or Hendry will next appear on WWE television, but with filming now reportedly complete, fans may not have to wait too much longer.
