Willow Nightingale is heading into AEW All In: London with a broken hand, but the AEW Women’s World Champion is still ready to fight.

Nightingale is scheduled to defend her title against Mercedes Moné at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, despite suffering the injury ahead of the huge championship clash.

Fans first noticed something was wrong during the August 26 episode of AEW Dynamite, when Nightingale was seen holding her hand during a vignette with Moné. Reports later revealed she had suffered a broken hand, something AEW President Tony Khan subsequently confirmed.

Speaking to POST Wrestling, Nightingale revealed she was due to undergo an X-ray to determine exactly how serious the injury is and what protection she will need at All In.

“Well, she’s broken. I have to go get an X-ray later today to figure out the severity of that because that would then inform just how guarded it has to be on Sunday. Whether I’m able to get any kind of like wrist flexibility, or just hands, or if I’m gonna kind of have a situation of this where I’m just like a stump. So, we’ll see. But the heart is good. She’s full of love and passion, and ready to fight,” Nightingale said.

The champion is also already thinking about how she could potentially turn the injury into an advantage.

“I was talking about wanting to get a little of like wrist mobility. But I did think about if they put me in like a full cast,” Nightingale admitted.

Nightingale then pointed to Brody King, who previously competed with a broken hand and was not afraid to put his protective cast to use.

“I’m like ‘Listen, I know Brody King had a broken hand and he was clobbering people with that, so if that be the case, a girl’s got to do what she’s got to do,'” she added.

For now, Nightingale remains determined to defend her championship against Moné at Wembley. The big question is just how much the broken hand will affect her once the bell rings.
