Kyoki is set to make his televised WWE in-ring debut next week as part of a brand-new tag team on SmackDown.
WWE has confirmed that Bakusai, the team of Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki, formerly known as Hiromu Takahashi, will compete on the September 4 edition of SmackDown.
The show will be taped on Friday night in Cleveland, Ohio, with Bakusai facing The Miz and Kit Wilson.
The partnership brings a new chapter to Nakamura's recent storyline.
Throughout much of the summer, Nakamura attempted to convince Tama Tonga to walk away from the MFTs, regularly pointing towards their history together.
Tama and his brother Talla Tonga eventually did leave Solo Sikoa behind. However, they also rejected Nakamura's attempts to reunite, with repeated attacks eventually leading the brothers to form an alliance with their father, Haku.
That left Nakamura looking elsewhere.
Over recent weeks, Nakamura has appeared in a series of pre-taped vignettes teasing the arrival of a mysterious new tag team partner. During one of those videos, he described the newcomer as a "ticking time bomb."
The mystery was eventually solved when Nakamura revealed former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi as his new partner.
Takahashi is now competing in WWE under the name Kyoki.
While next week's SmackDown will mark Kyoki's televised in-ring debut, he has already stepped between the ropes for WWE.
Kyoki competed in a dark match ahead of Monday's Raw, where he defeated Kit Wilson. He will now meet Wilson again, this time with the cameras rolling and Nakamura by his side.
The announced match for WWE SmackDown on September 4 is:
• Bakusai (Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki) vs. The Miz and Kit Wilson
