Ric Flair has revealed he is dealing with a blood clot in his leg, but the WWE Hall of Famer says it will not stop him from travelling to Philadelphia.

The 77-year-old posted a video on social media explaining that he has a “little blood clot” and was already at the airport preparing to fly to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for an appearance.

The update comes just days after the same health issue prevented Flair from making a much longer journey to Las Vegas for the Cauliflower Alley Club reunion.

Flair was due to attend the event to receive the prestigious Iron Mike Mazurki Award, the Cauliflower Alley Club’s highest honour. Unable to make the trip in person, The Nature Boy accepted the award through a video message and revealed why he had been forced to stay home.

“I have a blood clot in my leg, so I can’t travel the five or six-hour trips that it takes to get there, and I turn it around and run right to Philadelphia,” Flair said. “But I want to thank you all for coming out tonight, honoring me. I’m so honored, so privileged. I’m doing great. I feel great. I hope to stay like this for a while.”

Flair has not publicly revealed when the blood clot was diagnosed or provided details about any treatment he may be receiving.

His decision to fly comes despite the potential risks associated with travelling while dealing with a blood clot. Medical guidance generally advises caution with prolonged periods of immobility, particularly during longer flights, because of the possibility of a clot travelling to the lungs.

For now, Flair appears determined to continue with his scheduled appearance in Philadelphia while keeping fans updated on his condition.
