Patrick Clark, formerly known as Velveteen Dream in WWE, is stepping into the boxing ring this weekend, but things have already boiled over before the opening bell.
Clark is set to make his boxing debut against podcaster and social media personality Ryan Pownall this Saturday, August 29, at Duel Arena 1 in Orlando, Florida.
Things became heated during Thursday’s press conference after Pownall took a shot at Clark’s wrestling career.
Clark had been discussing some of the famous arenas he competed in during his wrestling days when Pownall mocked his career path, claiming he had gone from those venues to competing in “food courts at the mall.”
That remark appeared to set Clark off.
Clark attempted to get at Pownall as tensions quickly escalated, with the former WWE star briefly grabbing a metal pole before security stepped in and took it away.
Clark was eventually removed from the situation, leaving Pownall to conduct the promotional face-off alone.
Duel Arena later played into the controversy by referring to Pownall as the “CEO of ragebait.”
Footage of the confrontation quickly began circulating across X, adding even more attention to Clark’s first boxing match.
Clark and Pownall will now get the opportunity to settle their differences inside the ring on Saturday night.

He grabbed a metal pole and tried to hit his opponent with it and was kicked out. Then he came back and crashed the stage and destroyed everything 😭 pic.twitter.com/2xvcHAjYe9
