Zilla Fatu’s stay in WWE NXT could be much shorter than many fans expected.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, there is an expectation within WWE that Fatu will make his way to the main roster “before long.”

The report claims WWE officials are already looking beyond his current NXT run, with the possibility of pairing Fatu with members of his famous wrestling family early in his main roster career.

Those within WWE reportedly believe putting Fatu alongside his cousins could establish him with fans quickly while also laying the foundations for his long-term future with the company.

Fatu only made his WWE NXT debut on August 11, but he has wasted little time making an impact.

He is already heading into the NXT Championship picture, with his WWE in-ring debut scheduled for Heatwave. Fatu will compete in a Fatal Four-Way against NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo, Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana.

WWE RAW Vignette Reportedly Had Bigger Purpose
WWE may already have started preparing main roster viewers for Fatu’s eventual arrival.

A recent vignette featuring Fatu aired during WWE RAW and promoted his upcoming NXT Championship opportunity at Heatwave.

However, WrestleVotes reports that promoting Heatwave was not the package’s only purpose.

The vignette reportedly acted as a “soft introduction” to Fatu for WWE viewers who may not regularly watch NXT or are unfamiliar with the rising star.

That could be another indication that WWE has significant plans for him beyond the developmental brand.

Following his NXT debut, Fatu appeared on Booker T’s Hall of Fame podcast and told fans to “buckle up” as he discussed the beginning of his WWE journey.

With WWE already highlighting Fatu’s family connections, the company appears keen to establish who he is with the wider audience before any potential move to RAW or SmackDown.

There is currently no confirmed timetable for Fatu’s main roster call-up, and WWE has not officially announced any plans.

However, if the latest report proves accurate, Fatu could be spending considerably less time in NXT than originally anticipated.
