AEW Dynamite emanated from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, in a taped edition of the show as AEW made its final stop on the road to All In at Wembley Stadium.

With the AEW World Championship showdown between Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay rapidly approaching, the Continental Classic Cup tournament continued with both semifinal bouts taking place. Jon Moxley battled Claudio Castagnoli, while Kyle O'Reilly faced Nigel McGuinness for the right to advance to the finals.

Elsewhere, Adam Copeland and The Young Bucks teamed up against the Don Callis Family, Mercedes Moné continued targeting Willow Nightingale, MJF and Andrade El Idolo continued their war of words, and Swerve Strickland battled "Jungle" Jack Perry in the main event.

Will Ospreay Opens Dynamite

AEW Dynamite kicked off with the familiar words from Excalibur:

"It's Wednesday, and you know what that means!"

Will Ospreay's music immediately followed, bringing "The Aerial Assassin" to the ring for the opening segment.

Ospreay reflected on the last time he addressed the AEW audience in this setting, noting that it had been roughly a year since he was preparing to undergo surgery. He then looked back on his journey through British wrestling and the difficult environments that helped shape his career.

Ospreay talked about wrestling in smaller venues with basic rings and little glamour, explaining that he embraced those experiences because they allowed him to learn from British wrestling legends and represent the United Kingdom.

His ultimate goal, however, has always remained the same:

Proving that he is the best.

That brought Ospreay's attention to AEW World Champion Kenny Omega.

While Omega wasn't in Glasgow, Ospreay made it clear that his respect for the champion had disappeared after Omega brought Ospreay's son into their rivalry.

Ospreay referenced Omega's comments about his son needing a new hero after Ospreay loses at All In. Ospreay responded with a warning that Omega doesn't want to find out what happens when a father believes someone is threatening his family.

Ospreay promised that Omega would ultimately help him teach his son an important lesson: heroes are ordinary people capable of extraordinary things.

And at Wembley, Ospreay intends to become AEW World Champion.

AEW Continental Challenge Cup Semifinal

Jon Moxley vs. Claudio Castagnoli

The first match of the evening featured a battle between Death Riders as reigning Continental Champion Jon Moxley faced Claudio Castagnoli.

The match opened with both men testing each other's strength before Claudio gained the early advantage, repeatedly controlling Moxley and attempting to pin the champion's shoulders to the mat.

Moxley eventually escaped to the floor for a breather, but Claudio followed him outside.

Moxley attempted to slow Claudio down with a Figure Four, but Castagnoli escaped before launching Moxley into a giant swing that sent him crashing toward the barricade.

After the commercial break, Claudio continued targeting Moxley's arm.

Moxley fought back and avoided a Neutralizer, while Claudio landed on his feet following a back body drop. Castagnoli then sent Moxley outside and dove through the ropes, although Claudio appeared to injure his shoulder in the process.

The two eventually traded heavy strikes in the center of the ring.

Moxley caught Claudio with a cutter before Castagnoli answered with an armbar and sleeper. Claudio transitioned into another Giant Swing before attempting the Sharpshooter, but Moxley countered into a small package.

Claudio survived and eventually connected with another uppercut that sent Moxley to the floor.

Moxley barely made it back inside before Claudio attempted the Neutralizer again. Moxley kicked out.

Claudio prepared to unleash a massive elbow strike, but Moxley countered with a Paradigm Shift. It wasn't enough.

Moxley followed with a stomp and Death Rider DDT before transitioning into the Bulldog Choke.

Claudio fought desperately to escape, but ultimately couldn't break free.

The referee called for the bell.

Moxley advances to the Continental Challenge Cup Final.

Adam Copeland & The Young Bucks vs. Rocky Romero, Jake Doyle & Brian Cage

Adam Copeland teamed with Matt and Nick Jackson to take on the Don Callis Family.

Copeland and Jake Doyle started the action before Matt Jackson entered and helped his team gain control.

The Don Callis Family eventually isolated Matt Jackson on the floor, with Brian Cage throwing him into the action outside the ring.

Following the commercial break, Nick Jackson and Cage were the legal competitors.

Cage continued using his power advantage, but Nick managed to fight back before Copeland entered and began cleaning house.

Doyle hit Copeland with the Experiment Doyle, but Cope survived the subsequent pin attempt.

The Young Bucks eventually neutralized Doyle and Cage, allowing Copeland to hit Rocky Romero with a spear.

That was enough to score the victory.

Afterward, Christian Cage came out and verbally attacked the Young Bucks.

Christian mocked the idea that his upcoming match against the Bucks was a "dream match," insisting that beating them would simply be another day at the office.

Matt Jackson responded by discussing the influence of both Christian and Copeland, arguing that AEW and The Elite helped establish their legacies in a way that neither man could claim alone.

Christian then blindsided Matt with a low blow.

Nick Jackson responded with a superkick, only for Copeland to spear Nick.

Christian and Copeland then left the ring as the Young Bucks were left stunned.

Mercedes Moné Attacks Willow Nightingale

Willow Nightingale was scheduled to appear, but before she could make her way to the ring, Mercedes Moné attacked her backstage.

Mercedes mocked Willow and declared that this would be her final Dynamite as champion.

Moné promised that she would take everything away from Nightingale at All In.

MJF and Andrade El Idolo Continue Their War

Backstage, Don Callis discussed the upcoming Casino Gauntlet Match and Mark Davis drawing a number.

Callis hoped Davis could settle his score with Andrade El Idolo while potentially bringing championship gold back to the Don Callis Family.

Andrade's music hit, but MJF interrupted.

MJF took the opportunity to insult Andrade and the Scottish crowd, continuing his usual arrogant routine.

He claimed Andrade wasn't present because MJF had paid people to "warm him up."

MJF continued insulting Andrade before Andrade suddenly appeared behind him with a microphone.

Andrade asked MJF the question he's become known for:

"How you know?"

MJF immediately retreated up the entrance ramp as Andrade's music played.

AEW Continental Challenge Cup Semifinal

Kyle O'Reilly vs. Nigel McGuinness

The second semifinal saw Kyle O'Reilly take on Nigel McGuinness.

The two technical wrestlers immediately engaged in a series of grappling exchanges.

O'Reilly accidentally grabbed the referee during one sequence, allowing McGuinness to attempt a quick roll-up.

The match became increasingly physical as O'Reilly began targeting Nigel's leg.

O'Reilly repeatedly attacked the injured limb and eventually applied a leg lock.

McGuinness escaped and answered with a neckbreaker.

O'Reilly continued attacking the leg before Nigel countered with a London Dungeon attempt.

Kyle escaped and connected with a knee strike.

The two men exchanged submissions and near falls before McGuinness began targeting O'Reilly's eye.

Kyle countered into another ankle lock, but Nigel reached the ropes.

Both men returned to their feet and began trading increasingly violent strikes.

Nigel eventually blasted O'Reilly with a lariat and transitioned directly into the London Dungeon.

O'Reilly had nowhere to go.

He tapped out.

Nigel McGuinness advances to the Continental Challenge Cup Final, where he will face Jon Moxley.

Don Callis Family Tension

Backstage, Don Callis and Kyle Fletcher discussed their plans heading into All In.

Fletcher said he was willing to "run the play," but wanted to know whether Kazuchika Okada was equally committed.

Okada insisted that family was the most important thing and told Fletcher to trust him.

Fletcher then brought up being attacked by Konosuke Takeshita the previous week while Okada wasn't there to help.

Okada accused Fletcher of constantly thinking about himself and reminded him that the Don Callis Family comes first.

Maya World, Alex Windsor & Jamie Hayter vs. Megan Bayne, Lena Kross & Persephone

Maya World teamed with Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter against Megan Bayne, Lena Kross and Persephone.

Bayne immediately showcased her power, overpowering World before Kross and Persephone continued the attack.

World eventually escaped and tagged in Windsor.

Hayter entered and helped her team gain control, with World eventually joining the offense for an assisted moonsault.

After the commercial break, the momentum shifted.

Bayne hit Hayter with a running boot and release German suplex, while Windsor broke up the resulting pin.

Chaos eventually broke out around ringside.

Hayter and Windsor brawled with their opponents while World and Persephone remained inside the ring.

Maya attempted to mount a comeback, but the champions pulled her teammates away from the action.

Persephone capitalized on the chaos, hitting World with a devastating attack before climbing to the top rope.

A frog splash followed.

Main Event

Swerve Strickland vs. "Jungle" Jack Perry

The evening concluded with Swerve Strickland taking on "Jungle" Jack Perry.

Swerve immediately attempted to get inside Perry's head, offering him a free shot before quickly regaining control.

Perry answered with a cheap shot to the eyes before taking control.

Strickland soon regained the advantage and punished Perry with strikes in the corner and a hammer throw across the ring.

Perry attempted to fight back but couldn't complete a sunset powerbomb from the apron.

Swerve then slammed Perry into the ring post as Dynamite headed to commercial.

Following the break, Swerve remained in control.

Perry eventually escaped and sent Strickland to the floor before launching himself outside with a series of dives.

Back inside, Perry attempted a moonsault, but Swerve caught him.

Perry recovered and connected with a DDT for a near fall.

The two exchanged counters until Perry avoided a House Call, only to walk directly into another House Call moments later.

Swerve climbed the ropes for the Swerve Stomp, but Perry moved out of the way.

Perry then trapped Swerve in the Snare Trap.

Strickland escaped, but Perry continued attacking with a hurricanrana.

The match reached its conclusion when Perry attempted another offensive sequence.

Swerve countered.

Big Pressure.

Perry was finished.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

Following the match, Swerve surprisingly offered Perry a hand.

Perry accepted the gesture, with Strickland seemingly showing respect for the fight Perry gave him.
