The AEW Continental Challenge Cup has reached its final two, with Nigel McGuinness and Jon Moxley now set to battle at All In London.

During the August 26 AEW Dynamite tapings in Glasgow, McGuinness defeated Kyle O’Reilly in the semifinal to secure his place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 30. Jon Moxley also advanced after defeating Claudio Castagnoli, officially setting up McGuinness vs. Moxley in the tournament final.

McGuinness has endured a difficult road through the competition, particularly after suffering an ankle injury during his opening-round match against Katsuyori Shibata.

That injury became a major target when McGuinness faced CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Hechicero in the quarterfinals. Hechicero repeatedly attacked the damaged ankle, but McGuinness survived before locking in a Guillotine and forcing the submission.

He then overcame O’Reilly to move one victory away from winning the entire tournament.

Moxley has faced his own challenges on the other side of the bracket. On the August 19 edition of Dynamite, he went up against Jay White, who came close to victory after connecting with the Blade Runner. Moxley survived and eventually trapped White in a Rear Naked Choke to secure the submission victory.

After beating Castagnoli in the semifinal, Moxley now stands between McGuinness and the Continental Challenge Cup.

For McGuinness, the final carries even more significance as it takes place at Wembley Stadium in front of a British crowd. After battling through an injured ankle and defeating Hechicero and O’Reilly, he now has one final obstacle to overcome.
