Seth Rollins has been missing from WWE television since SummerSlam, but a new report has shut down speculation that an injury is keeping him on the sidelines.
Rollins last competed against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, where Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Championship in an emotional showdown packed with callbacks to their history together.
Since then, The Visionary has disappeared from WWE programming, sparking questions over his status.
Seth Rollins reportedly taking WWE creative break
According to WrestleVotes via Fightful Select, Rollins is healthy and his absence is simply part of a planned creative break.
“Everything I’ve been told, it’s a simple break. It’s not an injury, it’s creative.”
Fans may not have to wait too much longer to see him again.
WrestleVotes added that while Rollins is unlikely to return within the next couple of weeks, WWE is reportedly looking at the period around Money in the Bank for his comeback.
“He won’t be out long. Don’t think it’s this week or next week, but around Money in the Bank or so.”
Rollins’ SummerSlam encounter with Reigns appeared to bring their latest rivalry to a natural stopping point.
During the closing stages, Reigns refused to recreate the infamous Shield betrayal from 2014 before putting Rollins away with consecutive Spears.
After the match, Rollins left his Shield mask in the ring before he and Reigns shared a fist bump and recreated the faction’s famous pose.
With Rollins now reportedly nearing a return rather than recovering from an injury, attention will quickly turn to what WWE has planned for The Visionary next.
