TNA has wasted little time in confirming a major World Championship match for Bound for Glory.

Following the conclusion of TNA Lockdown on Sunday night, newly crowned TNA World Tag Team Champion Nic Nemeth was celebrating alongside his brother Ryan Nemeth when Leon Slater made his presence felt.

Slater, who had regained the TNA X Division Championship earlier in the evening, arrived with the title and revealed his plans for TNA's biggest event of the year. The young star announced that he will invoke Option C, giving up the X Division Championship in exchange for a shot at Nemeth's TNA World Championship.

The match is now set for Bound for Glory on October 11 in Tampa, Florida.

Nemeth was far from pleased by Slater's decision and responded by immediately attacking his newly confirmed challenger. Ryan joined the confrontation, but Slater managed to fight off both Nemeth brothers before standing tall as Lockdown went off the air.

It capped off a significant night for Slater, who earlier faced Cedric Alexander with more than just the X Division Championship at stake. Under the stipulation, a defeat would have resulted in Slater's previous championship reign being removed from TNA's official record books.

That would also have erased his distinction as the youngest X Division Champion in company history, returning the record to former champion Amazing Red. Slater instead emerged victorious and reclaimed the championship before making his intentions for Bound for Glory clear later in the show.

Option C has been part of TNA history since 2012. The concept was established when Austin Aries voluntarily surrendered the X Division Championship for an opportunity to challenge for the TNA World Championship. Aries went on to successfully capture the World title.

Slater will now attempt to follow a similar path when he meets Nemeth in Tampa.
