TNA Impact Wrestling Results (4/26)

We start the show off with Hulk Hogan backstage welcoming all the champions to Open Fight Night, where even the champions can get called out and will have to fight. It's been tough to decide which champion will need to defend their title tonight, and he puts each of them over in their own turn, but he decides that Joe and Magnus should to defend the World Tag Team Title. He won't let them know who the opponents are until bell time, but it's time to let the fighting begin, BROTHER.

After a new opening video specifically designed for Open Fight Night, Devon comes out and says that his title needs to be defended every week on Impact, so being the fighting champion that he is, there's one person he wants to give that opportunity to, one person everyone in this arena wants to see get his ass kicked, and that's his sorry excuse for a brother. He tells Bubba to get his ass down to the ring so he can stick his foot up it, but Bubba comes out and asks what makes Devon think he wants to be in the ring with him. Bubba says he was in the ring and carried Devon for fifteen years, and he doesn't need to get in the ring and make him good again. Devon may want to defend his TV Title against him, but Bubba says he isn't going to get the chance and tells him to go to hell. Bubba turns and starts to leave, but Devon comes out of the ring and goes after Bubba, and we're right off to our opening match...

TV Title Match: Devon vs Bully Ray

Devon rolls Bubba into the ring and Bubba begs off, offering his hand to Devon. Devon hesitates, but then takes Bubba's hand...and pulls him in for a short clothesline. Devon with a Thesz Press and punches, then repeatedly drills Bubba with right hands in the corner. Devon goes to the top rope, but Bubba shakes the ropes and crotches Devon on the corner as we go to commercial.

We're back and Bubba is dropping elbows on Devon as we see that he has somehow been busted open hardway. Bubba gets a nerve hold, but Devon comes off the ropes with a flying shoulderblock and both men go down. They get to their feet and trade blows in the middle of the ring with Devon coming out on top. Devon with a back elbow off the ropes and a neckbreaker, but he charges Bubba and eats his boot. Bubba with a hard clothesline and a cover for 2, then he goes for the Bubba Bomb, Devon escapes, but Bubba gets a Bubba Cutter for 2. Bubba charges and walks right into a spinebuster, and Devon covers for 3.

Winner: Devon

Good match and a nice way to tie up a year long feud that never really ended.

Austin Aries is backstage saying we just found out what happens when Bully Ray can't cheat, kind of like he did when he pinned Aries last week. Aries is not impressed with a 280 pound man who has to pull his tights, but Open Fight Night isn't over yet, so he might just see him later.

The Mystery Cameraman asks Ric Flair if he's going to throw a party for Eric Bischoff (whose name is not bleeped out this week) tonight, and Flair says of course he will because Bischoff is the greatest promoter in the history of the business and Flair has been partying for 63 years and hasn't slept since he was 20.

Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian walk into Kurt Angle's locker room bragging about what they did to AJ Styles last week, but Angle gets in their faces and says that he didn't ask for their help. Angle warns them if they ever stick their nose in his business again, they'll regret it. Daniels calls him an ungrateful (bleep), and Angle comes back to ask if Daniels was talking to him, but Daniels pretends he was on the phone with someone else.

Jeremy Borash comes out because Hulk Hogan has given everyone an opportunity, and he plans to take advantage of that. Borash wants to call out someone who has only been in TNA for a short time, and Borash has been here longer than anyone and has more seniority than anyone in the company. Instead of getting liquored up and going on Facebook, he wants to call out the guy who has been a bigger prick than anyone in the business, and on his last night in the company, Borash wants to wish Bischoff well by extending his fist and putting it right down Bischoff's throat. The crowd chants "JB" as Borash tells Bischoff to put down his Blackberry and get his ass down to the ring right now.

Bischoff comes out applauding Borash as the fans chant "na na na na hey hey goodbye" at Bischoff. Borash says he likes that song a lot, especially when it applies to someone like Eric. Bischoff takes out his Blackberry to take Borash's picture, and Borash tells him to go ahead and take his picture and post it on Facebook, but maybe they should install a breathalyzer on that thing first. Borash asks if there's an app for drunk tweeting or being an insecure tyrant because he can use it, but Bischoff says he hopes Borash has enjoyed the fifteen minutes of fame he's carved out for himself. Bischoff keeps talking as Bully Ray sneaks in from behind and low blows Borash. Bischoff says he's going to post "eat s***" on his Facebook because it's one of his favorites, then demands a referee come out to the ring because if this is going to be the end of his career, so be it.

Bubba takes pictures of Bischoff making karate poses as we go to commercial.

Ken Anderson says that he has a lot of respect for Eric Bischoff and they think alike on a lot of levels, but Bischoff has been an oppresive tyrant and he's not an asshole, he's a total douchebag.

Mexican America is in the ring and Anarquia says they're tired of being disrespected, they're wondering why they weren't included in the tag team title picture because there isn't a team around who can beat them. They can beat anyone right in the middle of the ring, and anarquia asks if anyone's going to step up to the challenge. Kurt Angle comes out to the ring and Anarquia asks if he wants to fight, then volunteers Hernandez to fight him. Angle turns to face Hernandez, but Anarquia attacks Angle from behind and we have another Open Fight!

Anarquia rams Angle hard into the corner, but misses a charge and Angle launches him into the air with a high angle German suplex. Angle gets the Angle Slam and the Angle Lock, and Anarquia is forced to tap out.

Winner: Kurt Angle

We see a video package looking at Alex Silva, the participant in this month's Gut Check. He wants to do this to honor the memory of his father, who passed away earlier this year, and has been successful in OVW, winning their TV Title. Silva comes out to the ring with Al Snow, who introduces himself as the head judge and explains the rules of the Gut Check, then introduces Silva's opponent...

Alex Silva vs Robbie E

Silva slaps the taste out of Robbie's mouth and unloads on him in the corner. He hits a clothesline and covers for 2, but Robbie catches him with a kick to the ribs and a back elbow off the ropes. Robbie with a hard bodyslam and an attempt at a headbutt of the second rope, but Silva moves and Robie eats canvas. Silva with a powerslam for 1, but Robbie ducks a shot and hits a leaping DDT for the win.

Winner: Robbie E

Hulk Hogan is backstage, and he's...TEXTING!

Dixie Carter is backstage answering what she's going to miss about Eric Bischoff. She can't decide if it's the constant broken promises, the way he came between herself and Hulk Hogan, or how he stole her company. In the end she decides that the answer is...NOTHING.

Hulk Hogan comes backstage to discuss who will get a tag title shot tonight and give Kazarian & Daniels, ODB and Young, Hardy & Anderson, and the Motor City Machine Guns a chance to explain why they deserve a title shot. They all state their case, then Hogan says he's still not sure except to say that it definitely won't be the Motor City Machine Guns.

Brooke Tessmacher comes out to the ring looking really angry, and she says everyone in wrestling is talking about how she pinned Gail Kim last week. Everyone says it was a fluke, but she's here to prove it wasn't a fluke and that she's a legitimate threat to her title and she's not just a pair of ASSets. It might not be a title match, but she's calling Gail out and wants her in the ring right now.

Knockouts Champion Gail Kim vs Brooke Tessmacher

Gail suckerpunches Brooke before the bell and rams her from corner to corner. Gail with a flying clothesline and goes for a cover, but pulls Brooke up at 2. She whips Brooke into the corner, stops to blow a kiss to the audience, and hits a running clothesline in the corner. Brooke dodges a second one and gets a few shots in, but Gail catches her with another clothesline that sends Brooke for a flip. Gail gets Brooke in a firewoman's carry and just dumps her, but Brooke comes back with a series of clotheslines and a dropkick. Gail takes Brooke back down and holds the title belt right in Brooke's face, telling her that she's not in her league and will never have the title, then says something that gets bleeped out and hits a charging shoulderblock in the corner. Gail comes off the top rope with a missile dropkick, but Brooke dodges and then gives Gail an atomic flapjack for 3.

Winner: Brooke Tessmacher

Daniels and Kazarian are backstage saying that they're confident they made a good enough case to get a title shot later tonight, and they warn AJ Styles that if he doesn't show up next week, they'll let his little cat out of the bag.

We see a video package hyping the Rob Van Dam-Bobby Roode match at Sacrifice, then we go back to the locker room where Al Snow tells Alex Silva that he hopes he appreciated the opportunity he got, and Snow will get with the other judges and they'll bring Silva back next week to discuss whether there's a possibility of a contract with TNA. Bobby Roode crashes the conversation and tells Silva that he'd introduce himself, except that no introduction is necessary. He tells Silva that it took him a long time to earn a contract, and to get one, you need to be ready for anything at any time. Yes, Roode then suckerpunched Silva in the gut and walked off.

Hulk Hogan brings the remaining tag team contenders back to the locker room, and he must have finally watched last week's show because he eliminates ODB and EY for acting like a couple of morons, then tells Kazarian & Daniels and Hardy & Anderson to meet him out in the ring where he'll make his decision.

We go to Garett Bischoff, who says he's spent his whole life watching his dad push people around to get what he wants, and he hates to say it because he's still his dad, but Eric put himself in this position and Impact Wrestling will be better off without him. We then go to Bully Ray, who is explaining to someone on the phone that Devon got lucky, then asks what she is wearing and says "Good, be wearing that when I get home." Joseph Park approaches and Bubba thinks he's looking for an autograph, but then realizes who he is and says that he doesn't have any answers, and he wouldn't give them to him even if he did. Park tries to hand him his business card, but Bubba tells him to shove it and walks off. Park watches him leave and starts laughing.

We head back out to the ring, where World Tag Team Champions Samoe Joe & Brutus Magnus and the remaining contenders come out to await Hogan's decision. The Orange Goblin comes out and tells the fans how awesome Open Fight Night is, and he says that Daniels and Kazarian are a great team and very talented, but in the other corner is a team that's not a cohesive unit...so they get the title shot and Daniels & Kazarian are eliminated. Okay, can't argue with crazy logic!

World Tag Team Title Match: Samoa Joe & Brutus Magnus vs Jeff Hardy & Ken Anderson

Joe and Anderson start off and they trade blows, then they trade out so Magnus and Hardy can go at it. Magnus overpowers Hardy and unloads on him in the corner, but Hardy uses hit speed to hit a flying headscissors and a mulekick enziguri for 2. Hardy and Anderson try a double team, but Magnus avoids the double team and tags out to Joe. Anderson hits him with a back elbow, then goes and argues with Jeff as we go to commercial.

We're back, and Magnus is in trouble in the challengers' corner as Hardy hits an inverted atomic drop and a double legdrop to the dong. Magnus rolls to the outside and Hardy tries to go after him, but Joe blindsides Hardy and rolls him back into the ring where the champions flatten him with an inverted atomic drop/big boot/running senton combo for 2. Joe whips Hardy to the corner and charges, but runs into his boot and then Hardy comes out of the corner with the Whisper In The Wind and makes the tag out to Anderson. Anderson cleans house on Magnus, clotheslines Joe and goes after Magnus again and they tumble out to the floor as Joe hits a snap powerslam on Hardy for 2. Hardy with a chinbreaker and the Twist of Fate as Magnus rams Anderson into the steps on the outside. Hardy forgoes going for the kill on Magnus and comes off the apron with a clothesline on Magnus so Anderson can get back into the ring and go at it with Joe. Anderson gets an O'Connor Roll, but Joe kicks out at 2 and dumps Anderson right into the rear naked choke. Hardy desperately tries to get in and break it up, but Magnus has his leg and holds him until Anderson is forced to tap out.

Winners: Samoa Joe & Brutus Magnus

Daniels & Kazarian come back out and attack Joe and Magnus on their way to the back, leaving them laying in the aisle.

After commercial, it's time for the Eric Bischoff farewell ceremony, as Ric Flair comes out to the ring with Bully Ray, Gunner, Christopher Daniels, and Frankie Kazarian to pay tribute to...well, to the guy who threatened to ruin his life. Flair starts by telling the fans to Google him and how that's his wife's favorite line, and he tries to start the eulogy, but the fans yell and chant so much that Flair says this is why he hates wrestling fans. Still, he wants to introduce the man who had more of an Impact on TNA than anyone, Eric Bischoff. Bischoff somberly comes out to the ring as Taz mentions what a sad state he must be in since he's wearing two different colored denims, then Flair asks Bischoff to take a seat in the giant throne they've placed in the ring for the occasion. He wants to tell Bischoff what it means for all of them to have worked for him, and Dixie Carter should be on her knees thanking Bischoff for bringing Hogan and Flair to TNA. Flair asks if there's any women in the ring who wants to go home with Bischoff and sleep with him, then says he hopes the fans at home can appreciate what Bischoff has done and how he was not afraid to cross the line in developing TV programming, and thanks Bischoff. Gunner takes the mic and wants to personally thank Eric for being a father figure and giving him nothing but opportunities. Flair says he almost forgot to give Bischoff a present on behalf of everyone, and they hand him a gold Rolex. Bubba says he's never admitted this to another man before, but he is the wind beneath his wings. Bubba gives Bischoff a big hug, and then Garett Bischoff's music hits and he comes out with Jeremy Borash and some other wrestlers. He says they were talking backstage and JB came up with a great idea, and since they all want to contribute to Eric's last night here, they had an idea. JB says that the Rolex is nice, but they want to get Eric something more symbolic of who he is and induct him into the TNA Shed of Shame. We got backstage where So Cal Val pulls back a curtain to reveal a Port-A-Potty, and a big brawl breaks out between Garett's guys and Eric's. Garett gets his dad by the head and drags him over to the Shed of Shame, Borash opens the door, and Garett throws him in and slams the door shut. They chain the door shut and tip it over, then open the chain so a doody-covered Eric Bischoff can emerge as Mike Tenay says he's known for stirring the s***, then says goodbye and good riddance.
