Update On Luke Harper Requesting His WWE Release

Luke Harper revealed on social media yesterday that he asked for his release from WWE after six years.

On the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed more background behind Harper leaving the company. He said that Harper’s contract with WWE is up in the fall of 2019 so he would have to wait several months if WWE chooses not to grant the release.

Meltzer also added that Harper likely went public with his release request because those who have previous such as Cody, Jack Swagger and Tye Dillinger were all granted their release.

Meltzer speculated that due to Harper's close relationship with AEW’s Vice President of Business Strategy Chris Harrington he may likely end up in All Elite Wrestling.
