WWE SmackDown Live Coverage & Results (11/27) Minneapolis, MN

Welcome to the live coverage for WWE SmackDown Live from Minneapolis, MN!  Join us at 8 pm EST for the results as they happen.

We open the show with the WWE:  Then, Now, Forever logo before opening to the crowd.

Paige is in the ring as we open.  She welcomes back the SmackDown Women's Champion, Becky Lynch.  Becky comes out and grabs a microphone as the crowd is hot for her with a loud 'Becky' chant.  Lynch says when you're the hottest thing in this industry, any time away is too far away.  Becky says that she kept showing up to fight, but she was stopped.  Lynch says that The Man is putting herself back into the game.  Becky says that at Survivor Series that someone had to step into her shadow and fill that match.  She says lets get this out of the way, and she calls out Charlotte Flair.  Flair comes down after being called out.

They show clips of Charlotte destroying Ronda at Survivor Series.

Becky Lynch says that she told Ronda to give her the beating she would have.  Becky says that Ronda wouldn't have been standing the next night if she'd been there.  Lynch says that it took Charlotte channeling Becky to give it to Ronda at Survivor Series.  Charlotte says that she wasn't being Becky.  She was being the 7-Time Women's Champion, Charlotte Flair.  She says that she's the only person who could give that beating to Ronda.  Flair says that she's genetically superior and the mindset to get the job done.  She Wooos as Becky calls her a bootleg who copies her dad and The Man.  Charlotte says that Nia must have hit her harder than she thought.  Flair says that Becky is the one copying her old man.  Flair says that she'll be ready at TLC if Ronda wants more.  Charlotte says that she's born ready.  Charlotte calls out Becky to fight tonight.  Paige stops it and says that at TLC will be Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match.

They're interrupted by Mandy Rose, The IIconics, Zelina Vega, and Sonya Deville.  Rose says how dare Paige say that she deserves that shot over them.  Rose says that Paige left Absolution and only gives shots to her old PCB teammates.  Naomi comes out next with Asuka, Carmella, and Lana.  Naomi says let her slow it down and put some 'glow up in it.'  Naomi says that they agree with Rose and that she knows that Paige isn't questioning her desire.  Lynch says that she'll slap the head off of any of them.  Paige says that this is the passion that she wanted to see.  Paige says that there will be a battle royal tonight with the winner being added to fight Becky and Charlotte at TLC.

AJ Styles is here tonight to respond to Daniel Bryan.

Jeff Hardy's 20th Anniversary is tonight and we're celebrating it.

The Usos are shown in the boiler room of the arena.  The Usos say that they held it up for Team Blue at Survivor Series.  The Usos say that they're here to put some people in the penitentiary.

The Usos vs. The Bar

 

They show a video package from earlier in the night where Cesaro and Big Show are arguing.  Cesaro complains about Big Show not being there to help them with The New Day.  Big Show punches Cesaro.  We resume back into the ring.

Sheamus and Jimmy start off the match before Jimmy nails a big uppercut and tags out to Jey.  Jey eats a punch from Sheamus before Cesaro enters.  Cesaro and Jey trade blows before Jimmy tags in and hits a big axe handle to the elbow of Cesaro.  Cesaro pushes Jimmy into the ropes before Sheamus yanks his head down across the top rope.  Sheamus and Cesaro hit a double clothesline before doing their 'We Are The Bar' taunt right into...

Commercials.

We're back with Sheamus ramming Jimmy around the ring.  Cesaro hits a big European uppercut after tagging in before hitting a spinebuster for a two count.  Sheamus tags in and nails a knee to Jimmy for a two count.  Sheamus slams Jimmy into his corner where Jimmy is fighting back.  Jimmy dumps Sheamus out of the ring, but Cesaro rolls him back in.  Cesaro tags in as well as Jey.  Jey begins nailing some shots followed by the Roman uppercut.  Jey hits the Samoan Drop followed by the running hip attack for a two count.  Jey eats an elbow from Cesaro before Sheamus is tagged in.  Jey kicks Cesaro out of the ring.  Jey leaps over the top rope and eats a leaping uppercut from Cesaro!  Sheamus rolls him into the ring before hitting a diving knee drop for a two count.  Sheamus tries for the diving clothesline, but Jey moves.  Jey hits a superkick to Cesaro before hitting Sheamus with one for a two count.  Jimmy tags in.

Both Usos climb up for a double diving splash, but Cesaro nails Jey with a European uppercut.  Sheamus brings knees up for Jimmy to fall on.  Sheamus rolls him up for a two count.  Sheamus and Cesaro try for a double team move, but Jey broke it up!  Sheamus tries for the Brogue Kick that misses.  He's superkicked out of the ring!  Cesaro whips Jimmy into the corner.  He tries for a splash, but Jimmy moves and tags out.  Jimmy hits a big superkick before Jey climbs up and hits a big splash for the three count!

Winners:  The Usos

In the locker room, The Miz is shown backstage with The New Day.  They say that Miz just had his best work yet.  The Miz asks them if they're Mariners.  He assumes it's about his movie, The Marine, but they mean his match against Wayne and Dave last week.  They ask who pinned him last week.  Miz says that he was surviving with his teammate Shane McMahon.  The New Day talk about they were the only team to win at Survivor Series.  The Miz says that their match didn't even count.  But tonight's match will when it's The Miz and Shane vs. The New Day.  He storms out as The New Day wonders what his problem is.  Big E begins talking about details from the movie before they accuse him of being a Closer Mariner.

Backstage, AJ styles is sitting before someone steps up and tells him that it's time.

Commercials.

AJ Styles is making his way out to the ring as we come back.  He grabs a microphone, but the crowd cuts him off with AJ Styles chants.  Styles says that he's been without the WWE Title for 14 days.  Styles says that those days seem a lot longer than the days he had the title.  He says that he hate that he lost, but the way he lost bothers him more.

A video package is shown of how Bryan won the title.

Styles says that once he became champion that he knew there would be a target on his back.  Styles says that he's been there with the willingness to do whatever it takes to get the belt.  Styles says that the kicks to the face was what truly bothered him.  He talks about not being medically cleared to be at SmackDown or at Survivor Series.  He says he had to sit at home and hear what Bryan had to say.

A video package is shown of Bryan saying that all that is left is the New Daniel Bryan.

AJ says that sounds like a lot of BS and trash.  Styles says that the new and old Daniel Bryan have the same face.  He says that he's ready to bash that face in.  Styles says that they don't have to wait until TLC.  But he says Bryan isn't here.  Styles talks about the live events from the last week where he wasn't there.  Styles talks about in that year he was champ, he never missed a show.  Styles says that, at TLC, Bryan can bring his dreams and his excuses, but he better not forget the title that belongs to The Phenomenal AJ Styles.

The commentators talk about Lars Sullivan before a video package is shown for Lars Sullivan.

 

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Rusev

 

But before the match can even start, Shinsuke attacks Rusev by stomping on the back of his head before nailing the Kinshasa  Rusev is knocked out of the ring as Shinsuke follows and nails another Kinshasa.  He smirks as he holds up his title.  Shinsuke leaves with his title as his music plays.

Commercials.

We return with Jeff Hardy memorabilia inside of the ring with Michael Cole.  Cole introduces Jeff Hardy who comes out.  The entirety of SmackDown and 205 Live's roster is also on the stage.  They part the Red Sea and allow Hardy to make his way down the rampway.  Jeff enters the ring and takes a microphone.  A video package is shown of Jeff's career.

The crowd begins chanting Hardy as we come back.  Jeff says that he doesn't know what to say other than thank you all.  He says watching all of his crazy stuff... he wonders what is wrong with it.  Hardy talks about how much better his facepaint is today.  Hardy talks about how WWE is a creative outlet for him.  Hardy says that this business has given him the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.  He thanks the audience for sticking by his side through it all.  The crowd chants "Thank You, Hardy!"  Jeff says wow and nods his head.  He begins doing the hand motion and the crowd changes to "Delete!"  Hardy talks about his daughters and everyone for making this night possible.  Hardy says that this isn't a retirement speech.  He says what if they find out together what is going to happen in the future.

Samoa Joe's music begins to play as he comes out.  He has a microphone and he says congratulations.  Joe says that he's sorry that he's late, but he was popping some bottles backstage.  But then he realized that bottles weren't a great idea for Jeff.  Joe says that that video package was great as it helped Jeff remember those moments he wasn't coherent enough to remember.  Joe says that he doesn't celebrate those without getting his title first.  Joe talks about Jeff making mistake after mistake after mistake and letting yourself be worshiped like this.  Joe says that the demons are always waiting to take control.  Joe says that he's offering his hand when those demons do come back.  He says it's a one-step process, but it's not painless.  Hardy says he won't allow Joe to rain on his parade tonight.  Jeff calls Joe to the ring to make a memory.

Joe puts down a microphone and acts as if he's about to enter the ring, but he stops and turns tail.  The crowd boos before Hardy's music resumes.

Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz next!

Kofi Kingston w/ Big E and Xavier Woods vs. The Miz

 

The bell sounds as Miz begins working over the wrist of Kofi.  Kofi trips up Miz before hitting a splash for a one count.  Miz fights up and locks in a headlock.  Kofi fights out and dumps Miz over the rope to the floor.  Kofi tries for a suicide dive, but he catches himself at the rope.  Miz is distracted by the others as Kofi actually hits the move this time.

Commercials.

Miz climbs to the top as we come back.  He leaps, but he catches a dropkick as he comes down.  Miz is slow to his feet before catching some big chops.  Kofi hits the Boom Boom Drop.  He begins setting up for Trouble in Paradise, but Miz reverses.  Kofi tries for the SOS, reversed into a Skull Crushing Finale, into a roll-up for a two count!  Kofi hits the SOS for a two count.  Miz kicks the knee out from underneath Kofi before hitting the kneeling DDT for a two count.  Miz pulls off the top turnbuckle pad, but Big E holds pancakes over the corner.  Kofi rolls up Miz for a two count.  Miz kicks Xavier for playing the trumbone.  The referee is distracted by Big E as Miz slides in a steel chair.  Miz tries to use it, but Woods yanks it away.  Miz turns around and catches a Trouble in Paradise for a three count!

Winner:  Kofi Kingston

Randy Orton is shown backstage as he turns around.  He's going to talk, next.

Commercials.

Randy Orton makes his way into the ring with the mask of Rey Mysterio in hand.  A video package from his attack last week is shown.  Randy Orton says disrespectful, disgusting... these are words used to describe his actions last week.  Orton says that he would choose the word euphoric to describe it.  Orton says he didn't realize what was so important about the piece of trash in his hand.  He says that he never bothered to learn the history because he didn't care.  Orton says that his actions were meant to humiliate and embarrass Rey, not attack his culture.  He says that Rey is nothing but a victim to the three most devastating letters.  R...

Rey makes his way out now with a neckbrace.  Rey and Randy begin brawling outside of the ring, but Orton takes advantage and throws Rey into the barricade.  Randy rolls Rey into the ring as Rey hits a kick to the face of Randy.  Rey hits the 619!  Rey steps off the apron and grabs a steel chair.  He climbs back into the ring, but Orton stops him at the ropes and hits a leg-draped DDT.  Orton kicks the chair away before grabbing Rey by his mask.  He yanks him over to the barricade and slams him back into it.  Orton places the chair against the throat of Rey and forces him onto the steel steps!  Agents and referees get between them as Orton is trying to get at Rey.

Commercials.

Shane McMahon is shown backstage with Miz walking in and asking where Shane was?  Shane says he was right there.  Miz says that he needs his partner to meet him one third of the way.  Miz says that the trophy is their child that pairs them together.  Miz says that this trophy makes them family.  Miz grabs the trophy and pushes it towards Shane who looks confused. 

 

9-Woman Over-The-Top Battle Royal
Carmella vs. Naomi vs. Mandy Rose vs. Sonya Deville vs. Peyton Royce vs. Billie Kay vs. Lana vs. Zelina Vega vs. Asuka

 

The battle royal starts with Charlotte and Becky sitting at ringside.  Sonya begins working over Lana with some big kicks.  Zelina is knocked onto the apron, but Lana is knocked underneath the ropes.  Lana pulls Vega off the apron as she's eliminated!

Eliminated:  Zelina Vega

Vega slams Lana's head into the ring apron so hard that we're pulled into a...

Commercial.

We're back with Carmella almost being eliminated by The IIconics.  They are stopped by Lana who they turn towards and dump her out.

Eliminated:  Lana

Asuka squares off with IIconics and nails them with hip attacks and shots to the face.  Asuka dumps Kay to the apron.  Royce is also dumped over.  Asuka hits a big double hip attack to knock them from the apron to the floor.

Eliminated:  Peyton Royce & Billie Kay

Asuka is nailed by a superkick from Carmella.  Asuka knocks Carmella to the apron.  Carmella screams which stops Asuka.  Asuka hits a big discus chop to send her off the apron to the floor.

Eliminated:  Carmella

Rose and Deville begin teaming up on Asuka, but Naomi steps in. Naomi hits some big shots to Rose before hitting the Rear View.  Naomi hits the springboard kick to Sonya.  Rose picks up Naomi and throws her over the top rope.  Naomi pulls her with her. Rose pulls Naomi into a splits.  Naomi rolls through.  Rose charges, but Naomi dodges as Rose slams into the ring post and falls down.  Quickly Deville knocks Naomi off the apron.

Eliminated:  Mandy Rose & Naomi

Asuka is almost eliminated by Sonya Deville, but Asuka catches her with a kick.  Rose is trying to pull Asuka off!  Asuka kicks her away as both Sonya and Asuka are trading blows.  Sonya rushes at Asuka who lifts her up and nails her with a knee to eliminate Sonya.

Winner (and new #1 Contender):  Asuka

It'll now be a triple threat Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match with Champion Becky Lynch defending against Charlotte Flair and Asuka.

Asuka motions for the title as the three stand off as the show comes to a close.
