On tonight's edition of WWE Raw, it was acknowledged in a backstage segment with Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore and Drew Gulak that WWE "has revoked Rich Swann's opportunity" at challenging for the chance to become the number-one contender for Enzo's title on the broadcast. Swann had previously been scheduled to face Gulak in a match on tonight's show, with the winner earning a chance to face Enzo for the Cruiserweight Championship in a future match, but tonight's match was cancelled following Swann's arrest over the weekend on charges of battery and false imprisonment/kidnapping involving his wife.
Instead, it was revealed by Gulak that WWE will be holding a "second-chance" Fatal 4 Way Match on tonight's broadcast, with the winner of that match advancing to next week's Raw to face Gulak. The winner of that match will then earn a future opportunity to face Enzo Amore for the Cruiserweight Championship.
The participants in tonight's match will be Mustafa Ali, Cedric Alexander, Tony Nese, and Ariya Daivari.
