The 'PWI 500' list is one of the most hotly anticipated and debated lists in professional wrestling. This year Kazuchika Okada took top spot as the number one wrestler in the world. In fact, it is the first time in the history of the publication that a Japanese wrestler will be #1 for the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Top 500 wrestlers.
For reference here are the top 10 for (July 2016-June 2017):
1. Kazuchika Okada
2. A.J. Styles
3. Kevin Owens
4. Roman Reigns
5. Kenny Omega
6. Shinsuke Nakamura
7. Dean Ambrose
8. Samoa Joe
9. Bobby Roode
10. The Miz
The remainder of the top 10 was dominated by WWE Superstars with Samoa Joe at #8 on this year’s list and he has a few words for those who are complaining about their position. He tweeted: “If in the biz & upset about your PWI ranking, schedule permitting I’ll stop by & toss a brick at your head to justify your boo boo face.”
So there you have it. If you are a professional wrestler unhappy with your ranking you'll have The Samoan Submission Machine to deal with!
