Many athletes have been voicing their opinions on Colin Kapernick's controversial protest of the National Anthem. The NFL quarterback made a decision to kneel during The Star Spangled Banner last month. He explained his actions by stating that he would not "show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color."
Randy Orton took a strong stance of opposition on Twitter.
Sneering? More like shaking my head. Courage? Lol riiiight. Courage. Thats what it takes to stand up and fight, not raise a fist. https://t.co/DqQt11cNmS— Randy Orton (@RandyOrton) September 20, 2016
Randy Orton also tweeted his thoughts on the North Carolina teacher that was suspended for stomping on the American Flag.
Suspends? Should fire his ass! https://t.co/dGV0WqSsq2— Randy Orton (@RandyOrton) September 21, 2016
Americans are dying. Pigment of skin doesn't matter. American people matter. https://t.co/MgUbMiPteM— Randy Orton (@RandyOrton) September 21, 2016
It is worth noting that before he got into wrestling, Orton was a United States Marine, but he eventually received a bad conduct discharge.
