The Reason The Miz Is Hosting SummerSlam Pay-Per-View

WWE selected The Miz as the official host for this year’s SummerSlam is because he is seen as one of the top social media representative by the company according to a report published by PWTorch.com.

WWE announced to Mashable.com today that they have big plans for the social media surrounding SummerSlam on Sunday which will involve using Google Glass, which will be able to stream video and take photos directly to upload to the companies social hub, giving fans a close-up view of the action.

WWE V.P. Perkins Miller spoke said, “We can use social media as the glue that connects all of these things for our fans who can’t be in Los Angeles as well as the fans who are there. It creates a unified experience we weren’t able to have before.”

The Miz will also be involved in the Playstation 3 launch of a live-event streaming App which can be accessed through the Sony Store. SummerSlam will be the first WWE event available on the new platform.
