We get a re-cap from last week and Teddy Long’s decision regarding this Sunday’s Extreme Rules PPV. We follow it up with a re-cap of the Randy Orton-Big Show feud.
Welcome to Friday Night Smackdown and this week’s edition comes to us from Wichita, Kansas and we kick things off with the return of MizTV.
MizTV
Miz welcomes everyone to the return of MizTV and introduces his two guests, Randy Orton and Big Show. Miz says Show and Orton have had issues since Wrestlemania which makes this one of the most anticipated matches at Extreme Rules. Miz rolls footage from last week’s Smackdown where he got dropped with an RKO from Orton. Miz asks Show if Orton laying him out last week with an RKO is a preview of what will happen this Sunday at Extreme Rules. Show says he’d expect Miz to make a statement like that and says the only way Orton was able to hit him with an RKO was from behind and calls him a snake in the grass. He attacked Show at Wrestlemania and last week. At Extreme Rules, there are no rules. He can use anything he wants to rip Orton apart but says unlike Orton his weapons are at the end of his wrists and Sunday in St. Louis the last thing people will remember won’t be an RKO but a TKO. Orton says that story was very interesting and entertaining. Only the ending was inaccurate and there is not a chance that he’s going to allow Show to beat him and knock him out in his hometown in front of his friends and family. The only reason they are at each other’s throats is because Orton made the mistake of trusting him and tells Show the only thing anyone is going to remember this Sunday is how The Viper struck down the Giant and if Show’s not careful he just may not get up. Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger come out and says he agrees Sunday night will be memorable but it won’t be because of Orton and Show. It will be because Jack Swagger will make Alberto Del Rio “I Quit”. People, Sunday night are going to remember that Jack Swagger’s America becomes a reality and he is going to emerge as the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. Alberto Del Rio comes out next with Ricardo and tells Colter to shut up. Everyone is sick and tired of hearing him talk. The only thing people are going to remember this Sunday is him becoming the #1 Contender. Because this Sunday he’s going to make Jack Swagger say “I Quit” and he’s going to make sure Zeb Colter goes back to where he came from so he doesn’t sneak into Del Rio’s business ever again. Mark Henry comes out next and says he hears everyone talking about what’s going to be remembered Sunday. And what’s going to be remembered is Mark Henry’s feats of strength, throwing, dragging and beating Sheamus like no one has ever beat him in his life. And what people are going to remember is that he’s the strongest man in the world. Sheamus comes out and says his and Henry’s Strap Match is definitely going to be memorable and says why wait until Sunday when they can show a preview of their strap match right now. Sheamus then runs down and clears the ring of the heels.

Backstage: Teddy Long welcomes Miz back to Smackdown. Miz thanks Long and says the way things broke down at the top of the show it feels like he never left. Damien Sandow then walks in and says they would all be better off if Miz had never returned so they could all bask in the glory of a host with a sense of taste and direction and calls Miz an ignoramus who’s actions nearly incited a riot earlier. Sandow then proposes an idea to Long. A show of his own. “The Damien Sandow Show” and in his benevolence he’ll give Long the first opportunity to help him produce it. Long says he’ll take it into consideration but tonight he needs to show Sandow what he can do out in the ring against The Miz.
We take a look back at the main event from this past Monday’s Raw and Ryback’s attack on John Cena.
