In a classic case of conflicting reports, there is yet another backstage rumor about Antonio Cesaro's status with WWE management.
The latest report is that Cesaro has both supporters and detractors backstage. While he reportedly doesn't have any real heat with anybody, the report coming out now is that WWE officials feel that he lacks personality, even though it's widely agreed that he is a very good worker in the ring. One report that has not changed is the fact that Cesaro impressed many backstage with his recent matches against Kofi Kingston for the United States Championship.
Since Cesaro dropped the U.S. Title there have been conflicting reports coming out. One report said that he had heat with somebody backstage, and another report said that WWE officials simply felt it was time for him to drop the belt. Again, this is the latest report that has come out from Dave Meltzer and The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Also, Meltzer says that although Cesaro's match with Kingston was well-received, it does not change his current status (whatever that may be) within the company. Meltzer noted the following:
"They don't see him any higher than they did two weeks ago. There was lip service paid there for a week or two, but it's over now."
