Randy Orton's future is as uncertain as it has ever been in the WWE, and it appears there is a minority who thinks he should be let go.
A "small, vocal pocket" has been pushing for the former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion's termination. Orton used to be considered neck-and-neck with CM Punk as the second highest babyface in the company behind John Cena, but Punk has since taken that spot all on his own within WWE's inner power circle.
Despite the lack of star power currently on the Smackdown roster, Vince McMahon is said to be considering dismissing Orton. Many in the company who agree with this move feel that with wrestlers like Sheamus, Sin Cara, Christian, a soon-to-be-returning Rey Mysterio and, if a switch is needed, Daniel Bryan, they would be just fine without Orton's presence.
Former WCW announcer Mark Madden gave his thoughts on his Twitter account as well: "WWE wants to get rid of Orton PERMANENTLY. Character and popularity have plateaued, and he’s a pain to deal with."
