He takes the opportunity to thank Florida's Full Sail University for becoming the new location for NXT to emanate from, then thanks the fans for coming to the show. Triple H says that NXT is the future of this business. WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes is introduced as the new General Manager of NXT, replacing William Regal. Bo Dallas defeated Rick Victor Conor O'Brian and Kenneth Cameron defeated CJ Parker and Mike Dalton Damien Sandow was scheduled to face Jason Jordan next, but cut a promo instead. In the main event, Tyson Kidd defeated Michael McGillicutty

Changes Coming to WWE Taping Schedules

With the announcement that WWE Raw will now be a permanent 3 hour program, some shuffling will take place during production. WWE Superstars will now be taped prior to Smackdown. Meanwhile, there is talk of the interactive elements spoken about in the press release to be used in the first hour, which will affect matches that take place in the latter hours.

It has been announced that WWE RAW will be permanently moving to three hours. This will begin with the July 23rd edition of the broadcast, which will also be the 1000th episode of RAW. The title says it all. 2 payperview events which saw WWE in the same position, losing it's most prestigious title, the WWE Championship. In one case, the WWE found itself in the position of losing the title to ECW, as Rob Van Dam cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase he won at WrestleMania 22. In the other case, CM Punk becoming the number 1 contender, then revealing his contract was set to expire the night of MITB 2011. In both cases, the WWE lost the WWE Championship. In 2006, the title became a part of ECW, as Paul Heyman counted the winning pinfall which saw RVD win the WWE title, then crowned the ECW Champion on the next ECW show. In 2011, WWE lost the title when CM Punk won it in his hometown of Chicago, despite interference from Vince McMahon and Johnny Ace, as well as Alberto Del Rio attempting to cash in his MITB briefcase after the match. Let's take a look at the circumstances as to why these two are so similar: *The WWE was in danger of losing the WWE title on both occasions. *The champion in both cases was John Cena. *WWE lost the title in both cases. *The challengers were two guys that were loved by the IWC and fans around the world: RVD and CM Punk. *In both cases, the title changed hands in controversial ways in front of two very hateful crowds. One was ECW, RVD's home crowd and the other was Chicago, CM Punk's hometown. So, the question I pose to you guys: which PPV/storyline was the best? TNA Impact Wrestling X Division competitor Anthony Nese, who has scarcely been used by TNA at all since the fall of last year, has announced on his Twitter page (@TonyNese) that he has parted ways with TNA Impact Wrestling: I wanted to be the first to inform everyone that I have requested my release from TNA Wrestling. As a professional wrestler I have many goals and dreams that I work hard to achieve, one of them was to have the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience on national television and I thank TNA Wrestling for providing me with that opportunity. Another goal of mine is to wrestle against some of the top international superstars with the chances to travel the world and work for some of the best international companies that have the best talent in wrestling today. I have recently been approached with an opportunity to step in the ring with The Great Muta, a wrestling legend, and one of All Japan Pro Wrestling's top wrestlers Kai. This is an opportunity that I feel with help me further my goals and career. This event will be provided via IPPV and unfortunately my TNA contract did not allow me to perform on such events. I requested that an exception would be granted given my lack of appearances but was denied. My next action was to request a release as I think it will be in my best interest. I would like to thank TNA Wrestling for helping me achieve one of my goals as it is very few in this business that are able to say they have. Leaving WWE: I walked away from an extremely well paying job, which is probably not the smartest thing to do, but I did it solely to come home and to help my wife raise our children, to be a part of their lives. WWE would have allowed me to work any kind of way that I wanted. I could have very easily have said, 'Hey, I'd like to slow down over the next couple of years, do a few things here and there,' and I think everybody would have been fine with that, but for me, I think that would have probably been harder on me. Personally, I think the job would be harder for me to do, personally, on a semi, here and there, in and out type basis. It's easier, and I think I'm better at it when I'm doing it or I'm not. So for me I felt it was better to walk away completely. Returning to the ring: You have to be careful because if you leave it as an open option, you're going to be getting calls on a regular basis. Every time somebody gets injured or every time somebody comes up with an idea, the phone is going to be ringing, and you're going to have to deal with 'should I or shouldn't I?' I didn't want to run into that. I didn't want to put myself through that, and I didn't want to put the company through that. I'm certainly not going to wrestle, but if you need me for something, if you're in a bind, you can give me a buzz, and I'll be more than happy to be there and help out any way I can. Being a part of WrestleMania 28 with Undertaker and Triple H: For me, it was about three of us who have been there for the most part the longest of anybody and probably the last of the Mohicans, so to speak.It was three guys who had been sharing that lockerroom for a long time, doing this in some form or another, whether it was me and Hunter, me and Taker, Taker and Hunter. The three of us have run the gamut of being in and out of the ring with each other and going through ups and downs, personally and professionally, and this is the last time the three of us will be in the ring together. That's what the End of an Era was to me.

Paul Heyman's return: Paul Heyman's return is one of the more positive things to occur in WWE in a good while. As I have said over the years, Heyman's TV persona is an easy one to dislike. We've had some classic on air disputes but none compare to some of the one's that we have had off the air especially when we were teaming in Atlanta while working for WCW. What makes Heyman so effective is that he doesn't play the 'role' of a villain who has litigious tendencies. Plus, Heyman is a life long fan who now has the chance to essentially reinvent himself with this unexpected return to the genre. It will likely be his last return to the business if I had to make a wager. I thought Heyman's interaction with HHH Monday night was the highlight of the broadcast while it kicked off the show as nothing really could follow that compelling first segment of the night. Potential Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar match: Lesnar will get what he has coming to him was a great line by The Game. It could mean many things including a possible match between HHH and Lesnar if we fans are lucky. Time will tell on that but this particular issue has my interest and, more importantly, has me thinking of all the potential 'moments' that the HHH/Heyman/Lesnar issue might provide.

Current WWE Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes recently spoke with Brian Soscha from MixPhiladelphia and talked about what he learned from his Undashing gimmick, as well as his mask actually saving him from Randy Orton one time: “Honestly, I learned the commitment from masked Cody Rhodes. The level of commitment I had to that was probably where I learned more about myself than anywhere else in my career. I felt more like myself under that mask. I was telling someone else this the other day. When the mask was removed, I felt like Master Chief. I felt like something was wrong with my face. This was real. My face was all untanned because I’d been wearing the mask so long. WWE Sign's Ric Flair's Daughter To Developmental Contract

The Wrestling Observer reports that WWE has signed Ashley Fliehr Johnson, the daughter of Hall of Famer Ric Flair, to a developmental contract. Previous reports from sources state that Johnson had announced her intention to follow in her legendary father's footsteps and begin training to become a professional wrestler. In high school, Johnson was a star volleyball player who led her team to two North Carolina state championships. She is also a graduate of North Carolina State University, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree. Johnson is also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and also attended Appalachian State University where she became a Division1 Full Scholarship Athlete in the sport of volleyball. Johnson is expected to report to Florida Championship Wrestling later this summer.

Gabe Sapolsky's fiery comments regarding Ring of Honor's Border Wars iPPV debacle appear to have warranted legal ramifications. ROH reportedly issued Sapolsky a cease and desist letter on May 15, a day after he railed against current ROH management and production for their handling of the internet broadcast of Border Wars. While this week's overall Raw rating of 2.95 likely set off a panic in the WWE offices of Stamford, one positive note can be made from the breakdown of each segment: The Big Show was a massive draw for viewers. An article published today by Forbes details how The Rock has been a powerhouse in not only the ring, but the box office; specifically, how he has time and again managed to make money on franchises that were otherwise dead in the water. Linda McMahon Endorsement Called Into Question

Linda McMahon remains on the campaign trail for the United States Senate, and the mudslinging that comes with it made itself known today. John Slater, the Republican Town Committee Chairman of Bridgeport, gave McMahon his endorsement for the upcoming election a month after Slater attended Wrestlemania 28 in Miami. This sequence of events was brought into question by McMahon's opponent, Christopher Shays, whose own campaign staff called the timing of the endorsement interesting. While there was no direct accusation involved, Slater seemed to take the insinuation personally. He sent a photo to press members of his own bank statement which shows the dollar amount he paid for his ticket to Wrestlemania. Former WCW and TNA Impact Wrestling star Konnan recently spoke with MLW Radio and gave his thoughts about Rey Mysterio's recent second suspension from WWE: Rey Mysterio, I can guarantee you categorically, he doesn't do any drugs. He's a guy that really lives up to his role model image. He's got two little kids that he really wants to be an example for. He's even told me, 'Dude, please do not come to my house high.' He really wants to be a good role model. He's not on the juice or anything. What can Rey really be on? It can't be the juice and he definitely doesn't do any hard drugs. He was taking a dietary supplement because he has a problem with his love handles. It was something that would burn fat and I think just like anything that's fat burning it probably had some sort of amphetamine in it. So that's where we're at right now. He's actually still going back and forth with WWE on that. It kind of pisses me off because they know who is on what and they've given other guys passes. I won't get into names or details because Rey will catch heat, but this is my opinion. They know he's not on anything.

Another Update on the Lesnar/HHH Match

In yet another update on WWE's plans for the Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H match, WWE officials are still thinking about not having it at SummerSlam, but some time before then, either at the No Way Out PPV in June or the Money In The Bank PPV in July. It's being reported that the main reason why they ant to do this is because of the dates on Lesnar's contract. They apparently have Lesnar for around 24 or 25 dates this year, and the rest are being saved for 2013 during the WrestleMania season. They want to extend the time between his appearances for this year, and they've already used him over 5 times between WrestleMania 28 and the Extreme Rules PPV, as well as the Raw where he broke Triple H's arm.

WWE SmackDown spoilers from tonight's tapings in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Airing Friday. Dark Matches: * Dean Ambrose defeated a local wrestler. * CM Punk defeated Chris Jericho in an Anything Goes match. * John Cena, Randy Orton and Sheamus beat Lord Tensai, Kane and Dolph Ziggler. SmackDown: * Attendance looks low but there is a lot of Daniel Bryan chants. Heat for Michael Cole as he comes out with Booker T to the announcers table. * John Laurinaitis opens the show and talks about facing John Cena at Over the Limit. Laurinaitis wants sympathy and wants the fans to pray for him. WWE Champion CM Punk interrupts to a huge pop. Punk comes out and is glad that Laurinaitis will finally be terminated after John Cena beats him on Sunday. Punk wishes Laurinaitis the best in his future endeavors to a big pop from the crowd. Punk goes on ripping Laurinaitis until he's had enough. Laurinaitis tells everyone to go to hell and announces Punk vs. Kane for tonight. * WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and RTruth beat Darren Young and Titus O'Neil. * Zack Ryder is backstage filming his YouTube show when Damien Sandow is shown walking to the ring. * Sandow comes out as Yoshi Tatsu waits in the ring. Sandow cuts a promo and doesn't think Tatsu is worthy of wrestling him tonight. Yoshi taunts Sandow and calls him a chicken. Sandow lays Tatsu out with a modified neckbreaker and leaves. * A Big Show video airs. * Backstage segment with Sheamus and Randy Orton hyping up the fourway title match at Over the Limit. * Daniel Bryan beat Zack Ryder with the Yes Lock. * Kane beat CM Punk by DQ with Daniel Bryan staying out for commentary. Bryan tried to interfere with a chair shot but hit Kane instead. Kane, thinking Punk hit him with the chair, laid the WWE Champion out. * Santino Marella beat Cody Rhodes in a champion vs. champion match. * Randy Orton defeated Sheamus in the main event with a rollup. The title was not on the line. After the match, they shook hands but Orton left Sheamus laying with a RKO.

TNA Impact Wrestling spoilers, airing Thursday (5/24) on Spike: Gail Kim and Madison Rayne defeated ODB and Eric Young to win the TNA Knockouts Tag Titles. Rob Van Dam pinned Gunner. TNA TV champion Devon and Garett Bischoff fought to a nocontest. TNA XDivision champion Austin Aries defeated Joey Ryan. Bully Ray came out and had a back and forth with Joseph Park, who was in the crowd. He laid out Park and nailed him with a chain. TNA champion Bobby Roode defeated AJ Styles. Roode had a party to celebrate being the longest reigning TNA champion. Hulk Hogan came out and said he had some announcements. The lights went out and when they came back, Sting was in the ring and ran Roode out of the ring. Hogan announced that Impact Wrestling would be moving to 8 PM and Sting vs. Roode would open the next show in a Lumberjack match.

TNA Impact Wrestling spoilers, airing this Thursday (5/17)on Spike: Bobby Roode comes out and brags about his victory over Rob Van Dam at Sacrifice. Because he is going to be the longest World Champion in TNA history he wants a celebration party. He calls out Hogan to confirm. Hogan declines it then later announces that at next week’s Open Fight Night, the World Title will be defended. There will be a series of matches (Bully Ray vs RVD, Anderson vs Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe vs Kurt Angle and a Battle Royal) with the winners facing off next week in a Fatal 4Way. The winner of that match will face Roode later in the night for the World Heavyweight Title. In the first match, Bully Ray defeated Rob Van Dam to advance to next week’s 4Way. AJ Styles won a 10Man Battle Royal (also included Austin Aries, Robbie E and Robbie T, Devon, Garett Bischoff, Crimson, Magnus, Eric Young and Gunner). After the match, Hogan congratulated AJ. AJ stood in the ring to explain the Dixie Carter scandal. Before he could thoroughly explain it, Daniels and Kazarian came out interrupting him. Daniels and Kazarian then show a video of AJ on their IPAD of of Dixie Carter and AJ Styles at a hotel. They end up going into a hotel room together. Daniels and Kazarian trash talk AJ. AJ goes after the tag champions but eventually leaves the ring. Gail Kim defeated Velvet Sky and Brooke Tessmacher when she stole a pin from Velvet Sky to retain the Knockouts Title. Jeff Hardy defeated Mr. Anderson to advance to next week’s 4Way. Kurt Angle defeated Samoa Joe to advance to the 4Way by reversing the Musclebuster into a rollup. Bobby Roode (who was on commentary) had a few words with Angle after the match. Eventually Hardy came to ringside followed by Bully Ray and AJ Styles on the stage. Roode had a staredown with his four potential challengers.

COLUMN: Why Last Night's Raw Lost PPV Buys

Last night's Raw seemed to be very similar and ominously resembing a similar incident from last year of John Cena not really doing much promo wise and finishing in the main event. However, this year WWE have managed to screw themselves over and it will be shown in PPV Buys. Besides the fact that Raw was a mess, I'd like to share this other stat. Monday's WWE Raw episode scored the secondlowest social media activity score of the year, was down 36 percent compared to last week, and was down 39 percent compared to the yearly average. Raw scored 103,552, which was good for #4 on cable TV behind the NBA Playoffs and Basketball Wives on VH1. (PWTORCH) We noticed last night that Twitter was very quiet. Until the Big Show segment, we didn't really have too much going on via Twitter or even Facebook. The NBA playoffs will knock Raw down this week I have no doubt. That score for Raw is the second worse of the year. DVR's will obviously add to the rating's number eventually, but many will watch and skip large portions of Raw and for these reasons... Raw started out with the anticipated HHH/Heyman segment to which Heyman delivered. HHH however managed to downgrade the threat of Lesnar with phrases such as I've taken worse beatings and Lesnar ran away. This is the same man who one month ago was being presented as the biggest threat going..they made a mess of his image with HHH. They then didn't break but showed Punk come out for his match. The WWE Title feud in the second segment? Unless WWE believe Punk/Bryan doesn't need a storyline and will sell itself, this was another silly move as this could easily have topped the second hour restart. We then focus on the most awkward moment in recent memory. Big Show crying and being fired was uncomfortable and nasty viewing. It did however effectively put over Johnny as a vindictive heel and want viewers to watch PPV to see him fired.....but it didn't. It went on WAYYYYYYY too long and the moment (imo) was lost. Also, putting Brodus on after this was the worst positioning of a segment I've seen in a long time. Orton vs Jericho. PPV Material, given away with LITTLE advertising. You can hear the money being lost. Then John Cena address Johnny Ace. Where To Start? John Cena acting all goofy when 2 weeks ago he got his ass kicked and last week delivered a good enough promo was a total opposite effect. Any kind of motivation for that story..thrown out of the window. Had Ace not fired Show, this match would lack ANY kind of heat. Yes, they threw out Ace will be fired, but with Show & Lesnar both fired, at least one will return and cost Cena the win. Divorce or not, I appreciate the effort Cena makes, the sacrifices and seemingly at a cost. That doesn't mean they can give him goofball segments and expect us to buy PPV's! WWE sold me personally on Punk/Bryan (it's free in the UK but I would buy it for that reason). But the casual fan.....well.....there's not alot. Hell, the best match going into Over The Limit is the Fatal 4 Way Match! Punk/Bryan Barely Any Build Cena/Ace Lacking Any Sort Of Interest Fatal 4 Way Decent Match/Build/Sets Up Post Feuds Divas Layla Has NO Fanbase/Heat Tag Titles Lack Any Relevance In simple terms, the casual fan doesn't really have many reasons to waste $50 on a PPV. Punk/Bryan will deliver, but away from the IWC, many will not pay to see a one match PPV. It's going to be WWE's lowest purchased PPV of 2012 so far but it really could have been so much more.

On April 14th of 1969 in El Paso, Texas I faced Gorgeous George, Jr. in a 30 minute match for the NWA World Championship. Gorgeous George, Jr. put on a fabulous performance that night before a capacity crowd in the El Paso Coliseum. I will always remember the night Victor the Bear came to Amarillo for a Bear Over the Top Battle Royal Early in the day the local Game Warden, Woody Pond came to my father and said a Black Bear was a game animal, protected and could not perform in an exhibition wrestling match. It was Gorgeous George, Jr.'s Idea with the approval of my father, Dory Funk, Sr. that George and Buddy Colt go down town and buy a case of Lady Clairol Hair Spray and that night in the dressing room, Gorgeous George and Buddy Colt sprayed Victor the Black Bear with the full case of Lady Clairol Hair Spray and Victor entered the ring as Boris the Russian Brown Bear. The Bear was angry over the smell of the Lady Clairol Hair Spray all over his body and came to the ring a growling, angry 600 pound bear. The bear chased everybody out over the top rope except Me, My father, Dory Funk, Sr., and Gorgeous George. With quick thinking by my father, Dad and I undid the turnbuckles in the corners of the ring and dropped the 3 ropes down to the apron of the ring. Next, Dad and I got the attention of the Bear and Gorgeous George tackled Victor the Black Bear (Alias Boris the Russian Brown Bear) in the buttocks and the Bear was out over the top rope. (Even though all the ropes were laying on the apron of the ring) Some of the fans in Amarillo were mad that night claiming that Gorgeous George, Jr. and The Funks Cheated the Bear. We will all miss Gorgeous George, Jr. He was a dear friend and great performer. Our condolences to his family. Dory Funk, Jr.

WWE Raw originated from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As always, check out Elio Cannella’s live recap for the rundown. With one week left to Over The Limit, the WWE looked to give a final hard sell in tonight’s “go home” show. Advertised for the program was Triple H. In addition, WWE Champion CM Punk would hopefully look to get even after last week’s surprising victory by the team of Lord Tensai and Daniel Bryan. In addition, John Cena looked to be in the house. Let’s go! The Good Opening Segment. The segment between Laurinaitis and Triple H prior to the actual start of the program promised something interesting. Triple H’s quips involving WrestleMania was worth a chuckle. Trips kind of rambled on for a bit, though the bit indirectly referencing Alistair Overeem was also worth a chuckle. It’s usually nice to Heyman, but I don’t dig his lawyer gimmick much given there is already one in the WWE (David Otunga). The setup for the future feud, to a degree, looks promising. Despite pacing issues, the segment was good. Punk and Marella vs. Bryan and Rhodes. Punk came out prior to the break, but no one got a jobber entrance. Punk and Rhodes opened with a nice pace. Punk wanting Bryan in the ring added a nice bit of storytelling to the match. Santino’s failure to hit the Suicide Dive was worth a chuckle to me, though I know some folks didn’t like it. The commercial break was well spotted. Back from the break saw some good action from Rhodes. Bryan looked good in his time on offense. Santino did his usual job selling. Cole and Lawler did a fair job, actually, calling some of the action, though it could have been better. Fair ending as as well. Decent length for a TV match. *¾ Orton vs. Jericho. The action opened with an adequate pace. Jericho looked fine during the his time on offense. Sheamus was a bit muted in places on commentary. Orton hit his usual spots during his first comeback. The dump to the outside by Orton looked nice on TV. The match couldn’t end cleanly due to the need to sell the match, and the added tension between Orton and Sheamus came across well on TV. *¼ The Meh Cena MakeAWish Video. While it’s nice to remind folks of all the charity work Cena does actually do, the WWE seems to run these spots monthly and it tends to wear a bit thin. That said, this was still kind of heartwarming. Clay, Truth and Kingston vs. Miz, Ziggler and Swagger. The booking for this, in the fact it was coming after, what should have been, a heart wrenching segment seems weird. The action opened up alright. The break from the match to the skybox was a bit longer than it should have been. Kofi’s offense on Miz looked a bit off in its timing. The finish did little to sell the Tag Team title match at Over the Limit, but it wasn’t entirely awful. * The Bad Fox vs. Phoenix. Alicia got the jobber’s entrance. Beth opened looking alright on offense. That’s about it. ¼* Kane vs. Show. Given how these firings don’t stick and the parties involved in the match, I’m wasn’t holding my breath for this. The action opened up with kind of a meh pace, which was reflected in the audience’s reaction. Both men had a few nice exchanges. Laurinaitis’ interruption was kind of anti climatic and the Chokeslam looked botched on Show’s end. ½* Big Show Firing. Laurinaitis’ promo after the Kane vs. Show match was forced in a few spots. Show attempted to elicit some emotion, but again this felt forced. Show’s “torment” was forced as well to the point of being awkward. The segment was designed to put Laurinaitis over as a Monster GM so the hero, Cena, give him his comeuppance at Over The Limit, but segments like this don’t help when everything is force. Just awful and one of the worst segments this year. What’s worse is they kept mentioning it throughout the remainder of the show. Ending Segment. Laurinaitis attempted some cheap heat tactics with the crowd, but failed miserably. Cena was in his “Happy” mode tonight. The segment was painful in spots and drug on a lot longer than it should have. Cena did a nice job working the crowd, but it wasn’t enough to save the segment. Random Thoughts “What I have to say, I’ll say in the ring.” Please tell me you’re firing Michael Cole “Simpleton farm boy from Minneapolis.” Huh? Not even past Over The Limit, and we’re already looking to No Way Out. “My client entered into an Oral and Binding agreement.” O RLY? The WWE Title just jobbed to Big Show’s apology. Jobs in 18 seconds. Get’s over as a result. Beth Ryback. Does Big Show’s “firing” segment really need a video recap with epic music. He can’t be that big of a draw. Be A Star, Big Show. “Get on your knees!’ If you know what I mean. The WWE Title just jobbed to Clay’s entrance. “Social Media is blowing up!” You might want to read those tweets. #ShutUpCole The WWE Title just jobbed to Brodus’ concrete head. “And Chris Jericho, the first undefeated champion.” “And he’s a reflection of you, and he’s a loser.” So much for “People Power.” The belated mute on Cena’s “douchebag” was somehow metaphorical. That sound you heard was Tensai’s push being flushed. Final Grade: D/D You know, recently I was reflecting on the dynamite shows after last year's Capital Punishment through to Survivor Series. The WWE is in desperate need of it's usual hot summer angle and it needs it now. The WWE is all over the place with their booking and scripts. The booking of the show was extremely awkward. For such a segment as the (soon to be infamous) Big Show firing to take hold, the WWE needed to give the audience pause, but they went right to a Happy Go Lucky match? Yeah, way to sell that. That said, this show was awful in a number of ways. The only things really worth watching were the opening segment and match. The rest was simply filler or worse. The fact that Tensai was dropped from Over The Limit is extremely metaphorical for the WWE's recent booking. The Tensai gimmick was designed to be menacing, including defeating two of the top names in the WWE nearly back to back. But the issue was he never, once, spoke in anything resembling a coherent promo. Now Baldo will join the ranks of King Mabe and Giant Gonzales in aborted monster pushes. As far as Over The Limit, the card seems excellent with a bevy of great matches on paper. Punk vs. Bryan is purely for the IWC, so there wasn't much selling needed there, though the champ speaking would be a nice change of pace. The Fatal Fourway looks great as well. The overall sell, however, fell flat on it's face. More's the pity.

In the latest storyline move by WWE, Big Show was fired on Monday night's edition of WWE RAW SuperShow by RAW & SmackDown General Manager John Laurinaitis, even though Show got down on his knees and apologized to Laurinaitis for previously making fun of his voice.

Tonight, Monday Night Raw comes to us live from my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. This is the final Raw prior to this Sunday's PPV Over The Limit At the outset, HHH appears backstage walking with a purpose as GM Laurinitis stops him and apologizes for recent developments RE: Brock Lesnar breaking his arm He asks if HHH has anything to say in response, to which he promises to say what he has to say out in the ring. Nickelback's Burn it to the Ground theme song intro plays over the typical opening montage. Cole and King welcome us to the show, as HHH's song plays and he comes out, robotic arm brace and all, to a chorus of cheers. They recap the aforementioned incident, and HHH addresses Lesnar's talk of bringing legitimacy back to WWE, and how it's offensive to all the legitimate greats, past and present. He says everyone, including himself (HHH), fell for the hype of Lesnar 10 years ago, and it meant nothing after he, Lesnar, quit, two years later. Fast forward to today, where John Cena went toe to toe with Lesnar, and Lesnar quit after not getting his way again, what with his outrageous contractual demands. Paul Heyman cuts HHH off, as he hits the scene, accompanied by a lawyer, to Lesnar's theme song. Heyman speaks about the breach of contract on the part of HHH, and the lawyer serves him with papers. Hayman says it was indeed he (HHH) who never lived up to his own hype, and is now just a corporate sycophant, which is why his arm is injured. HHH grabs Heyman by the mandibles and tells him to tell Brock he's gonna have everything he deserves coming to him. HHH leaves the ring, and Heyman says HHH now has two lawsuits on his hands, after making things physical. Cole and King recap last week's happenings involving Big Show, and how Show must face Kane and apologize to the GM tonight...or else. Plus, tonight, Cena and the GM will have a tete a tete of some sort. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk comes out to the ring, as they recap what happened last week, where Lord Tensai and Daniel Bryan dished out a beating on the champ. Punk and Santino Marella vs. Daniel Bryan and Cody Rhodes CM withstands a double team attempt by the heels, with a cautious offense. A feeling out process breaks down quickly, as Punk sends them both to the outside, and follows that up with a plancha, and Santino does likewise. Back in the ring, and back from a break, Santino and Cody have a back and forth with a mix of kicks, punches and chops. Cheap shot from behind, sees the heel team gain control and dish out tag team wrestling 101, with frequent tags and by cutting off the ring, and with regular near falls. Santino makes the hot tag, and CM works over Cody, as Bryan avoids him like the plague. Cody escapes the GTS, but Santino threatens the COBRA, which causes Cody to turn and run right back into the GTS again. Winners: CM Punk and Santino Marella Cole and King plug Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho for later tonight. Promo for this Sunday's PPV talks about Cena vs. Laurinitis, and the recent developments that resulted in it. Beth Phoenix vs. Alicia Fox Beth overwhelms Alicia, as the Diva's champion, Layla, watches from the entrance ramp. One Glam Slam later, and Beth gets the win in typically short fashion. An after match assault on Alicia is interrupted by Layla, who chases Beth off. A video package airs highliting John Cena, and his MakeAWish contributions, as well as the host of WWE superstars who did likewise. We get another recap of John Laurinitis and Big Show's recent issues, as well as addressing Show Vs Kane and ofcourse tonight's main event of Orton vs. Jericho. John Laurinitis comes to ringside, with David Otunga, for Show vs. Kane. Show must apologize to the GM sincerely, or be fired. Show starts the match by overpowering Kane with a front facelock, that Kane punches out of. Show continues to show his force and size advantage with a biel throw. Kane dodges a charging Show at the turnbuckle, and returns with kicks and a choke. Show again overpowers Kane with a headbutt and punches. Show tosses Kane to the outside and nails him with a spear. Laurinitis demands his apology now, distracting Show long enough for Kane to land the match ending chokeslam. Laurinitis continues to demand his apology, and accuses Show of trying to create discord amongst the roster. Show gives an emotional speech about his long career, and how he doesn't want it to end because of something as petty as mocking his (John's) voice. Laurinitis insists that Show still hasn't apologized. He makes Show beg for his job on his knees. Show is clearly emotional, as he struggles with what to do. Show starts do buckle down on a knee, but stops and begs to not have to be put through this humiliation. Laurinitis says that Show disgusts him, but he'll consider it. John turns around halfway up the ramp and is about to fire Show, but Show drops to his knees and begs for forgiveness. Laurinitis wishes him luck in his future endeavors, and fires him. Shows cries as we go to break. Back live and at the broadcast booth, Cole and King are nearly as somber as if someone had died. Broadus Clay is out with his hoochies, and he dances around the ring. Broadus, Kofi Kincston and RTruth Vs. Miz, Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler Broadus tosses the heels around, while his partners take them all to the outside with fast paced offense, and an over the top clothesline. Break AW in a skybox with his new faction, including Mason Ryan, as in the ring, the heels are working over RTruth. Hot tag to Kofi, who cleans house with dropkicks, a pin attempt and Trouble in Paradise to Miz. Clay tags in and hits the splash and scores the pin. Everyone dances with kids in the ring as they cut to break. Backstage, AJ talks to CM Punk and wishes him luck this Sunday. Punk says he doesn't trust Bryan and says she's unstable, and would prefer to not get between them and their unhealthy relationship. Back inside, Sheamus comes to ringside to sit with Cole and King for tonight's main event. Ring intros commence as they preview this Sunday's main event fatal four way world title match. See saw matchup, with lockups, a criss cross, a kick by Orton and then Orton clotheslines Jericho over the top rope. Almost Everytime someone gets thrown to the outside, they cut to break. Jericho gains control with a poke in the eye, and holds a chinlock. He continues offense with an elbow, a splash, and an unsuccessful pin attempt. Slaps in the corner anger Orton, who retaliates with an Irish whip, but is caught with a boot. Jericho gets caught with knees on a Lionsault attempt. Orton hits the reverse neck breaker, but the 2nd rope DDT is countered with an over the top backdrop. Ringside, Jericho and Sheamus get in each other's faces. Orton and Jericho go back and forth with chops and punches. Jericho throws Orton into Sheamus at the booth. Back in the ring, after a comeback, Orton lands the DDT afterall, but Sheamus attacks Jericho, costing Orton the match via DQ. Orton confronts Sheamus for costing him the match. They hit the ring for a showdown, but it is broken up by officials. We're back from break, and so is John Laurinitis, who runs down the WWE Universe, as well as Big Show and his opponent this Sunday, John Cena, by calling everyone losers. Cena hits the ring and belittles Laurinitis by giving shining examples of how he (Laurinitis) is the biggest loser of all, including the cold blooded move of firing Big Show. Cena is in rare form as he gives the GM a really hard time with verbal abuse, and generally cutting up. The crowd, in what seems like forever, is solidly behind Cena here. Cheap heat by referencing the local teams always works, and this time is no exception, including the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team, who are occupying the front row. Laurinitis says that, as GM, he can do with this match anything he wants (i.e. stipulations, special referees, et al) but is interrupted by Eve, who hands a letter to him. Cena grabs it out of Laurinitis' hand and reads it aloud. It's from the Board of Directors. The match this Sunday will be one on one, no special stips, and if anyone interferes, they will be immediately terminated...and if Laurinitis loses, he too will be future endeavored. Cena references something Cole said earlier, about some special announcement that the GM wanted to make and asks if it was about getting a SHAM WOW at a discount or something along those lines, to which Laurinitis slaps Cena in the face and storms off. Cena gives him the death stare as the show goes off the air. *RECAP: CM Punk and Santino over Cody Rhodes and Daniel Bryan, when Punk pinned Rhodes following a GTS. Beth Pheonix over Alicia Fox via pinfall. Kane over Big Show thanks to a chokeslam after verbal distraction from the GM. Broadus, Kofi Kingston and RTruth over Miz, Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler as Broadus pinned Miz decisively with a big splash Chris Jericho over Randy Orton via DQ when Sheamus intervened.

WWE's UK DVD Distributor SilverVision Ending Licence With WWE?

SilverVision is ending as WWE's United Kingdom and Europe distributor of DVD and BluRay according to a number of sources. Rumors have been rampant for a couple of week since the company cancelled a number of upcoming titles and reduced current stock to bargain prices. SilverVision who are owned by Clear Vision Ltd have held a license to distribute WWE DVD's & videos in Europe since 1988. The distributor has become best known for their Tagged Classics series of DVD's that are exempt from the legal restraints imposed by the federal lawsuits initiated by the World Wildlife Fund in 2002 which enable them to release older WWE titles onto DVD without the need for blurring of the scratch WWF logo. Tagged Classics are currently on sale here with a number of other huge discounts top WWE titles.

WNS Debate: Brodus Clay or Lord Tensai?

WWE has recently seen the emergence of two very talented Super Heavyweight monsters in the form of The Funkasaurus Brodus Clay and the Superstar formerly known in WWE as ATrain and now known as Lord Tensai. Lord Tensai originally made his WWE debut in the late 1990s as Prince Albert and later became known simply as Albert. For the last few years of his WWE career he was known as The ATrain. After leaving WWE in late 2004, ATrain went to Japan and became a dominant force as Giant Bernard. He then returned to WWE in early 2012 as Lord Tensai. Brodus Clay made his WWE debut in Season 4 of WWE NXT in 2011. Brodus was a nononsense, monstrous Super Heavyweight who was nicknamed The Mastodon of Mayhem. He did very well on NXT and would later go on to become the bodyguard of Alberto Del Rio. After the 2011 WWE Draft separated the team, Brodus would not be seen again on WWE programming until early 2012 as The Funkasaurus. Which one of these talented Super Heavyweights do YOU like better? Lord Tensai, the American who dominated the Land of the Rising Sun? Or Brodus Clay, who has seemingly taken a ridiculous dancing Funkasaurus gimmick and has won over many fans and peers alike? WWE's creative team is said to be going crazy over what to do with the Brock Lesnar/Triple H storyline. They can't even agree on when they should have the match. The latest word is that they are thinking about having it in June at the 2012 No Way Out payperview, but many people think that that would be a big mistake and that a match this big should be saved for the 2012 SummerSlam PPV in August. Backstage Atmosphere in TNA After Sacrifice PPV

There was a positive feeling in the TNA locker room after this weekend's Sacrifice payperview, and the general consensus was that it was one of the best PPV's that TNA has had in a very long time. Also, Rob Van Dam is said to be okay after his Ladder Match against Robert Roode. TNA President Dixie Carter Tweeted the following: Great night! I am very proud of #TNASacrifice. Proud of the men and women that are TNA.

TNA Star Possibly Returning to WWE Soon

It's being reported that former TNA Impact Wrestling World Tag Team Champion The Blueprint Matt Morgan could have a job waiting for him in WWE now that his contract with TNA is about to expire. Morgan recently said in an interview that he and WWE are both interested in working with each other again. Also, TNA has reportedly used Morgan for all the dates required on his contract, even though it doesn't actually expire until October. As of right now Matt Morgan's future with TNA is uncertain, but there is definitely still a chance that he will sign a new deal and stay with TNA.

YOUR THOUGHTS: TNA's "Sacrifice" Yay or Nay?

In what was easily one of the more physical, hard hitting shows I have personally witnessed in a while, TNA presented its Sacrifice payperview event, live from Orlando, Florida. The show started off with a surprising loss for seemingly untouchable tag team champions, Magnus and Samoa Joe, as Christopher Daniels and Kazarian won their first world tag team titles. Unfortunately, this seemed like an afterthought, or a story telling device, as the focus was moreso on the storyline with AJ Stlyes. The title change to start the show gets a Yay but the fact that it wasn't the focus watered down the significance, so that gets a Nay They got the rest of the card out of the way, with the Knockouts title, and the TV Title ending in retention for the champions...thankfully, in the case of Devon. Yay At the midway point, things really got cooking. (save for the Nay of Crimson's open challenge being answered by Eric Young) Mr. Anderson and Jeff Hardy delivered a solid, physical match that kept the crowd interested. Anderson's victory was slightly tainted, what with the instant replay kick out at 2 1/2, but all in all, they performed and earned their spots at the Impact Wrestling dinner table for the forseeable future. Austin Aries and Bully Ray offered a violent, hard hitting contest that probably went above the expectations of most. These two really beat the shit out of each other. It felt quite aggressive and real throughout. Aries skyrocketed up the ladder multiple notches after this affair. His bruised chest and back a badge of honour for taking this show from good to great. Definite YAY! Angle and Styles gave us everything. This match is what Impact Wrestling is all about. The people who go out of their way to complain about TNA are simply repeating what their friends say, and are really missing the boat when it comes to quality wrestling programming. Sure, this match had a bit of a screwjob finish, what with Daniels and Kaz predictably interfering, but the entree was worth it, as is expected with these two. Yay The Ladder Match main event was brutal. Roode and RVD actually made me cringe a few times (RVD's elbow bulging and bloody was perticularly gruesome) They worked their asses off, and capped off a night that is a certain stand out for 2012. YAY! I watched Lockdown in April, and while it was solid and wild, Sacrifice was far and away the most physical night of wrestling I have seen in quite some time. TNA President Dixie Carter tweeted the photo below of Austin Aries being checked out by doctors backstage after taking a nasty bump to the outside of the ring during his match against Bully Ray at Sunday's TNA Sacrifice payperview. Aries was on the top turnbuckle when Ray booted him to the outside of the ring, unable to break his fall he smacked into the metal ring barriers leaving him with nasty bruises. Aries was able to continue the match and pick up the victory.

Welcome to TNA Sacrifice and we begin with a black and white montage containing famous speeches and we kick things off with tag team action as the TNA Tag Team Titles are up for grabs Kazarian & Daniels vs Samona Joe & Magnus Magnus starts things off with Daniels and a hammerlock by Daniels turned into a wristlock by Magnus. While WWE typically holds matches before the camera starts rolling for Monday Night Raw, it looks as if they are planning to take it a step further in the coming months. Beginning on July 2 at the Raw Supershow in Laredo, Texas, the show will start its tapings 90 minutes before airtime, which is almost double the current amount of time used before Raw begins in its timeslot. There are rumors that it may be some kind of preshow or countdown to Raw, but nothing is confirmed at this time.

Along with the recent announcement that WWE is reorganizing their NXT brand and incorporating FCW talent into a supershow of their own, a list of future dates for Superstar Showdown tapings has been released. Advance tickets are free to all Full Sail University students and staff with ID. The following are the scheduled taping dates: June 14 July 5 July 19 August 9 August 23 September 6 September 20 On a personal note, I think this is an awesome idea. The fact that Triple H himself is making the trip to the facility and appearing for the debut show says a lot about how the company sees this venture. My only hope is that people outside of the Florida area can eventually watch the show through legitimate means which, of course, does not include Youtube rips of cable feeds. What do you guys think of the upcoming Superstar Showdown?

Vince McMahon even told me he was jealous that we got Andy Kaufman to come to Memphis. Andy actually approached Vince Sr. with the idea to wrestle females on his show and he was hesitant. That's how I got hooked up with Andy, just by a stroke of luck... He definitely deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

WWE SmackDown originated from As always, you can check out WWE.com for the video rundowns. With Over The Limit less than two weeks away, the WWE sought to hype the announced Fatal Fourway match between the World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, Chris Jericho, Alberto Del Rio and Randy Orton. In addition, resident “Yes!” man Daniel Bryan would look to build towards his date with WWE Champion CM Punk in less than two weeks time. Let’s go! The Good Opening Video Package. The hype video recapping the events leading to the Fatal Fourway announcement was very well done and served to help build the angle with some anticipation. On paper, this looks like a good match, with all four men being respectable workers. Let’s see if they live up to it. AJ and Bryan storyline. I admit, this angle has been impressive to me, simply because it’s been cohesive and logical to a degree. AJ has done well with limited time in the storyline and it’s given Bryan an additional layer of ahole that’s always welcome in a heel. I can’t speak for other folks, but it’s nice to see long term angles have a legitimately positive effect on character development. Del Rio vs. Orton. Both men opened up exchanging blows. Del Rio looked alright in his time on offense. Orton hit his signature spots during his false comeback. The Stepup Enziguri by Del Rio off the ropes looked nice. The RKO’s on a flying opponent always looks nice. Adequate action for a TV match with a more satisfying ending sequence than the opening match. *¼ Santino and Ryder vs. Young and O’Niell. The action opened with Marella’s usual comedic shenanigans. Ryder and Young hit a nice double team move on Santino. Ryder looked crisp on offense. The ending sequence was nicely done as well. Could have used more time, but the action was nicely done. *¼ Jericho vs. Sheamus. The match opened with a good back and forth between both men. The break was slightly awkward. Jericho did well in focusing on Sheamus’ shoulder. Good pacing to the match. Sheamus teased a nice comeback prior to the Walls of Jericho spot. The breakdown at the end of the match was alright as well. *¼ The Meh Del Rio and Jericho vs. Sheamus and Orton. Del Rio came out without his usual automobile rental. Interesting. Jericho and Orton opened up things in their usual fashion. Orton tagging in Sheamus via tapping his injured shoulder was a nice touch. Del Rio looked good in working over Orton’s shoulder. Sheamus did well in the Damsal role, with the booking being logical given his storyline injury. Orton worked his usual spots prior to the go home sequence. The booking at the end was flawed due to the early No Contest call. I understand the need to sell the Fatal Fourway at Over The Limit, but this wasn’t effective. Overall, alright action with a bad finish. * Truth vs. Swagger. The two opened with a good pace. The offense looked alright for both men. The breakdown was done, particularly with Kofi leapfrogging Truth. Fair enough tease for the match at Over The Limit, though it could have used more time. * Sandow Interview. I still rather like Sandow’s gimmick, and the interview had it’s spots. That said, this gets a wash simply because his character is still under construction, as it were. The Bad AJ vs. Kaitlyn. AJ plays the scorned woman well. AJ’s Shining Wizard looked solid enough. Way, way too short to do anything, but this was more for the post match spot. ¼* Show vs. Bryan. Bryan did a nice job selling the big man’s offense. Bryan looked crisp in his opening moments on offense. Laurinaitis’ ending of the match killed whatever momentum the match had going for it, and was ultimately not needed. The post match sequence did nothing for me. ¼* Slater vs. Ryback. Slater got the jobber entrance and cut a rather painful promo. Standard enhancement affair for Ryback, though he kept patting his head for some reason and was yelling something about sharks. Maybe he got a promotional deal with the Discovery Channel for Shark Week? ¼* Riley vs. Cesaro. Antonio looked good in the opening moments. The Gutwrench move by Cesaro looked botched to some degree. Cesaro’s ear grab followed the European Uppercut looked creative. Oddly, there seems to be some chemistry there between both men, but there wasn’t enough time to explore it. ½* Clay vs. Hunico. Hunico and Camacho jumping Clay presented an interesting storyline opportunity for the match, but Clay no selling the attack nullified it. Otherwis, standard Clay match. ¼* Random Thoughts Orton’s posturing on the turnbuckles prior to his matches still reminds me of “RELEASE THE DOVES!” “With it being mathematically impossible. He’s got a 25% chance.” It’s for these reasons that I try and trend #ShutUpCole on twitter when possible. So most Tag Team matches in th WWE end in a clusterstyle mess up without a no DQ or any sort of nonfinish. Sheamus jumps in on Del Rio and the ref immediately calls for a No Contest ending? I wonder what Jim Cornette would say? And yes, Botchamania fans know where I'm going with that. 25 minutes into the program and this is turning into a trainwreck. I originally enjoyed the snarky Laurinaitis. The faux McMahon Laurinaitis is simply annoying. The WWE Title Match just jobbed to Laurinaitis' ego. Heath “Carrot Top” Slater. “Goldberg. Goldberg.” Orton’s booking is about as predictable the weather in Death Valley during the summer. Cryme Tyme Part 2? “These people yearn for enlightenment. But who do they have to turn to?” Ryback? “Funkadactyl! Funkadactyl!” #ShutUpCole Hulk Clay? Brodus Cena? Walls of Jericho? Check. Cross Armbreaker? Check. Codebreaker? Check. RKO? Check. Brogue Kick? Check. Final Grade: C First off, I need to apologize to the folks who were looking for a Critique and Thoughts article after Monday's Raw show. I had some personal matters to attend to that drew me away from the program. Despite my griping, this actually wasn't an entirely bad show. While there wasn't really a great match in the program, the two tag matches and the matches between the Fatal Fourway particpants was alright stuff. The lack of a clean finish in the three main matches tonight was logical, but the opening match came off very badly to me with the call rushed too quickly. Bryan's angle with AJ continues to give a nice over arching angle to the program and is giving some nice character development to AJ and Bryan both. There were no camera botches tonight as well. That said, the first hour of the program just wasn't good. After the top of the hour match between Del Rio and Orton, the show picked up enough steam to save it from failure.

WWE Legend Ultimate Warrior revealed in part two of his interview with MLW Radio that he has built up a respect for WWE Chairman Vince McMahon over the years despite their long history of legal battles: “It went on for almost five years and it was about to start trial. It was a Friday. Vince and Linda were there with their counsel, Jerry McDevitt, and I was there with my counsel. It had gone on for five years. There were 30,000 documents. There were 30 or 40 depositions that had been taken in all different places all over the country. There were 900 exhibits. It was incredible. I was already into it for a million dollars in paid legal fees.” “I think [Vince] was surprised as time went on. In those kinds of things, Vince has the money to throw at them all day long. He doesn’t really sit and think about the consequence. He just doesn’t. It was different for me because I was so close to it and it just kept dragging on and on. Vince is stubborn. Starting on May 17th, WWE NXT will hold it's own tapings, combined with Florida Championship Wrestling starting at 7pm at Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. Tickets are free to FSU students with ID as long as they reserve tickets in advance. WWE Superstar John Cena has filed for divorce according to TMZ.com. The former WWE Champion filed documents in Florida claiming his marriage to Liz Huberdeau is irretrievably broken. Cena married his high school sweetheart Liz in 2009 after many years together. The report goes on to note that Liz has hired the same attorney who represented Linda Hogan during her divorce from Hulk Hogan Liz' lawyer released the following statement: Although it is indeed unfortunate that John Cena decided to divorce his high school sweetheart Liz Cena; particularly, after they have come so far in their lives and in his career together, Liz will and really has no choice but to pursue all of her rights and entitlements. WWE.com has readded the profile of former WWE, ECW, and TNA Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion and current TNA star Rob Van Dam to the WWE Alumni roster section. Van Dam's profile can be seen by clicking here at WWE.com. No word yet on whether this addition to the Alumni section has anything to do with the return of Paul Heyman. However, it was reported a few months ago that WWE was interested in resigning Van Dam when his contract with TNA expires. Rob Van Dam is currently the Number One Contender to the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, which is currently held by Robert Roode.

Bruce Hart recently spoke with Fight Club Chicago and said that his brother Bret The Hitman Hart is a bit of a mark for himself.: I have the utmost respect for Bret as a worker. I've actually done a lot for Bret and I'm not taking any bows for any of his credits for whatever he has achieved. I think truth be known, Bret's a bit of a mark for himself. It's something some people become. He was more for himself than anyone else, which is fine I guess. He added, In the wrestling business in a way, it's a team thing. Everyone benefits from the guys there your working with. You can't do it all by yourself.. I think sometimes, Bret lost sight if that. Even with Montreal, I felt that both Bret and Vince (McMahon), neither one of them did the wrestling business justice with the way they handled it. Bret was disenchanted with my take on that. I have a lot of respect for Bret, but he's sometimes more for himself than anyone else. That's probably his biggest fault.

Vince McMahon is keeping the Brock Lesnar/Triple H storyline closed up to the point where only key members of Vince's inner circle, such as Triple H and Lesnar themselves, along with Stephanie McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and possibly a few others, are in on what's being planned. Also, it's now being reported that the Lesnar/HHH match might not take place at the SummerSlam PPV after all, but it is definitely still scheduled to happen at some point.

Another Backstage Update on Paul Heyman's Return

It's now being reported that WWE's creative team knew about Paul Heyman's return before Raw started on Monday, but Heyman was flown to Greensboro and was told to stay in a private trailer to keep it from getting out. It's also being reported that when Brock Lesnar agreed to appear in the most recent WWE video game (WWE '12), Heyman was actually considered to be a character in the game as Lesnar's manager, but WWE just didn't want anything to do with Heyman at that particular time.

It's being reported that since Vince McMahon has been passing the torch of control of WWE over to his daughter Stephanie and her husband Paul Levesque (Triple H), the next big name babyface star in WWE (such as Hulk Hogan, John Cena, etc.) could very well be the last one to be selected by Vince himself. It's been welldocumented over the past couple of years that Vince has taken Triple H and Stephanie under his wing a lot more in trying to prepare them to take over the company. So the next Superstar to become one of the faces of the company along with Cena and Randy Orton could possibly be the last one that was chosen by Vince McMahon.

It's been reported a lot of the past number of months that WWE is interested in bringing in more of the Luchadores from Mexico. WWE is worried about the current group of Luchadores that they have, because Rey Mysterio is always getting injured and he usually has some heat with WWE management for one thing or another. Sin Cara's future is uncertain, and Alberto Del Rio has said that he doesn't want to have a very long WWE career and plans on retiring within the next few years. WWE would like to find the next Rey Mysterio/Sin Cara type of wrestler with highflying abilities and the same aura and look as Mysterio and Sin Cara. But they would also be interested in a good heel/rudo (bad guy) such as the veteran Luchador called Averno.

Former WWE and WCW Superstar The Ultimate Warrior recently spoke with MLW Radio and said that he didn't fail a drug test in WWE, despite what Vince McMahon and WWE claimed: Vince was feeling the heat from the federal investigation in what ultimately became an indictment over the steroid thing. It's another one of those instances where he did what he had to do to protect his foremost interest, which was himself and his business. He made the claim that me and Davey Boy (Smith), Davey Boy got let go at the same time, that we had violated the drug policy at the time, which wasn't true. We deposed Dr. Di Pasquale, who was in charge [of the drug policy]. We went to Canada and deposed him as part of the litigation and he said it wasn't true. He was the guy that had the absolute authority in the program to decide who should be let go or if there was a different way of evaluating something. If they saw something on a wellness program test or something, it was up to him. He said he was totally shocked and surprised when Vince let me go and fired me. He never got a reason.

It's being said that Paul Heyman was warmly welcomed backstage in WWE on Monday night, and many people were very happy to see him again. The younger stars in WWE were especially happy to see him because Heyman knows many of them from their time in WWE developmental. Regarding Heyman's future involvement in WWE storylines, the word going around right now is that it will indeed be a legal/contractual dispute storyline which mirrors the real life issues that Brock Lesnar has had with WWE management. Heyman will be Lesnar's legal representative on television and will continue to speak for him. Heyman is also said to be interested in possibly working with C.M. Punk some time in the future, as the two have always been good friends. Heyman also did work for Punk's upcoming WWE DVD release.

Paul Heyman's Return To WWE: Paul Heyman's return to Raw Monday night was a pleasant surprise. Heyman's skills help add star power to the WWE's franchise broadcast and his role of representing Brock Lesnar is art imitating life to some degree. Heyman's promo was effective because Paul wasn't playing a character that he did not 'feel' but instead was simply being himself...amplified. The promo was also 'money' because Heyman has a legit, emotional investment in the topic on which he addressed. Brodus Clay: My wife is a fan of the 'Brodus Clay Experience' as I like to call it and I suspect that many females are. Clay beating a former WWE Champion Monday night was a positive step for the big man who reminds me at times of the Mid South version of the One Man Gang with a little, American Dream mixed into the recipe. Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston form RAW: Could have watched @HEELZiggler vs. Kofi Kingston compete for a much longer period of time Monday night. Both are rapidly evolving in my opinion but not as fast as some fans seemingly want. Patience isn't so virtuous any longer. Steve Austin's New Reality Show: Congrats to Steve Austin @steveaustinBSR on his new deal with CMT to star in the new reality show Redneck Island. The new reality show is to begin airing in June and Steve is taping it now somewhere in Mexico, I think. CMT seems to be a nice fit for Steve on cable. For those asking, I do not know how those outside the USA access Country Music Television now known as CMT.

WWE RAW SuperShow Rating Hits Three-Month Low

The rating for the 5/7 edition of WWE RAW SuperShow is in...and it is the lowest it has been in the past three months. This week's show did a 3.03 cable rating, drawing a total of 4.31 million viewers, which is down 9.1% from last week's show, which drew a total of 4.88 million viewers with a 3.33 cable rating. WWE RAW SuperShow opened strong with 4.43 million viewers in the first hour, but began sharply declining in the second hour, drawing only 4.19 million viewers during that time. Because of this, this week's show became only the second show this year to lose viewers in the final hour of broadcast. The first show to do this was the BCS National Championship game from January 9th.

Big Backstage Update on Paul Heyman: How Long Is He Back?

After Paul Heyman's surprising return to WWE last night on Monday Night Raw, it is now being reported that Heyman has signed on to be with WWE until after the 2012 SummerSlam payperview in August, where Brock Lesnar is expected to take on Triple H. After SummerSlam, Heyman will most likely be gone from WWE once again, at least on television. Heyman is expected to appear semiregularly on WWE programming until SummerSlam as Brock Lesnar's legal representative. WWE realizes that Paul Heyman has much better microphone/promo skills than Lesnar, so he will once again be used as Lesnar's voice, much like when they were first paired together in 2002 when Lesnar debuted. It's also being reported that Heyman's return has not been planned the whole time, and that he and WWE only started talking about it some time last week. This is being seen as a good chance for Heyman to make a small comeback and get his name out there once again, as well as make a decent amount of money, even if only for a short time.

Paul Heyman made a shocking return to RAW Supershow tonight as the legal representative for Brock Lesnar announcing that he has quit the WWE which is part of the storyline. WWE failed to get momentum behind Lesnar's backstage tantrum last week so having Heyman tell fans Lesnar has quit may go some way in making it seem legit. Lesnar is working toward a big match at SummerSlam and is expected to return soon however, the interesting point to note is Vince McMahon never saw eyetoeye with Heyman so his onscreen return will come as a surprise to many although when it comes to WWE experience tells us to never say never. Heyman's return to the company may have been part of Lesnar's terms of involvement when he originally signed with WWE a few weeks ago. The advantage of Heyman on WWE TV is that he great promo guy who can put over Lesnar in a stronger more convincing way then Lesnar could for himself. He could also appear on a more regular basis when Lesnar is not around keeping the storyline alive. Heyman quit WWE in late 2006 following a dispute over ECW's first (and only) payperview under WWE (December to Dismember). The PPV drew 90,000 buys, with 55,000 of them domestic buys the lowest buyrate in WWE history.

We kick Raw off with John Laurinaitis coming out to thee ring. Laurinaitis says he is the undisputed leader and authority figure of both Raw and Smackdown and he will not let anyone challenge that. That’s what John Cena did when he called Laurinaitis an idiot and corporate jackass. Brock Lesnar broke Cena’s arm, Laurinaitis broke his pride and at Over The Limit he will continue his destruction and he wil not apologize to John Cena and for anyone who thought he would be reprimanded he was not. He asked for Cena to not be here but to heal his elbow so that at OTL he will not have any excuses when Laurinaitis beats him. Laurinatis says Cena will be here live via satellite for an interview with Michael Cole. He then shows clips of his career in Japan and says he was the Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold and Rock of Japan. CM Punk comes out. Punk says for someone who claims to be the genius behind People Power he still has no idea what the people want. He’s out here to help Laurinaitis and tells him what people don’t want is to see him. Punk says Laurinaitis put all his money on Brock to beat Cena but then was embarrassed. And then he had to attack Cena and take out his frustrations and he calls Laurinaitis a joke. Punk calls Laurinaitis stupid, ugly and a toolbox and Laurinaitis said if he wasn’t in training he’d pummel Punk into the ground and tonight he’s going to face Lord Tensai. Punk says he looks forward to it just as much as he’s looking forward to OTL and Cena forcing Laurinaitis to tap out. Commercial Laurnaitis is texting and walking and walks into Big Show and tells Show to get out of his way. Eve comes in and Show looks at her and walks away Big Show vs Cody Rhodes Show pummels Rhodes in the corner and chest slap. Show then tosses Rhodes across the ring. Slam by Show. Show picks Rhodes up and suplex. Show charges at Rhodes, Rhodes gets the boot up and catches Show. Rhodes hits The Beautiful Disaster. Rhodes slides out and grabs the title but Show stops him and tosses him back in. Rhodes slides out the other side, grabs his title and runs back up the ramp. The winner of the match by countout: Big Show!!!! Show grabs the mic and tells Rhodes to get back to the ring but Eve comes out. Eve demands Show apologizes for making fun of John Laurinaitis’ voice. Show says he’s sorry but Eve said she asked Show to apologize. Show then apologizes and exits Commercial Dolph Ziggler vs Kofi Kingston Armwringer trades by Ziggler and Kingston. Highflying moves and 2 count by Kingston as A.W. is watching backstage. Ziggler misses the big splash and Kingston on fire with clothesline after clothesline. Kingston hits the boom drop. Trouble In Paradise but Swagger distracts Kingston and Kingston hits the SOS. Kickout by Ziggler and Swagger with the distraction as Ziggler hits the ZigZag from behind for the 3 count The winner of the match: Dolph Ziggler!!! Commercial Michael Cole interview Segment John Cena thanks the fans for their wellwishes and says there’s no permanent damage and he’s medically cleared. Doctors say he shouldn’t compete for next few months but he strongly recommends they don’t know who they’re dealing with nothing will keep him from getting his hands on John Laurinaitis. Cena told the board not to fire Laurinaitis until after OTL. Cena says he’s scared Laurinaitis is going to hurt himself before Cena can get his hands on him. It is being reported that the reason behind WWE Superstar Ezekiel Jackson losing his push was because of an incident in which he nearly came to blows with other Superstars backstage at a SmackDown taping in January, all because Jackson was acting boastful about an upcoming push. Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon heard about what was going on and was said to immediately enter the locker room and stop everything before Jackson and the other individuals came to blows. Former WWE United States and ECW World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley lost his most recent mixed martial arts fight against James Thompson on Sunday for the Super Fight League in New Delhi, India. Lashley reportedly went three rounds against Thompson but lost by a unanimous decision. Lashley now has an MMA record of 72. It's also being reported that Lashley appeared to have not been in very good condition, as he apparently lost all of his energy in the second round. Lashley's first loss in MMA was also due to poor conditioning, as he was said to have been extremely dehydrated when he suffered his first loss.

Bret Hart: He’s one of those guys, he’s the universe’s Ric Flair. When I met Flair, he fell far short of a hero or someone to look up to. Today, May 5, 2012, marks ten years since the World Wrestling Federation officially changed its name to World Wrestling Entertainment. The wildlife organization claimed that WWE violated an agreement made in 1994 regarding the use of the WWF initials. The World Wide Fund for Nature won the lawsuit after the decision was made by an English court on August 10, 2001, which ended up causing Vince McMahon to have to change the name of his company. McMahon also launched the Get The 'F' Out marketing campaign before ordering that changes be made on his company's official website from WWF to WWE. The following day, WWE issued a press release announcing the official name change.

Column: Musings On Roster Depth and Over The Limit

After a successful Extreme Rules payperview, a good week of programming, and a blockbuster financial quarter, it's easy to say this was a good week for the WWE. While it's a long way from the massively successful middle years of last decade, the WWE has some promise for the future. Instead of focusing on the future performance though, the WWE is trying to focus hard on their current situation with their core product: Wrestling. With new talent debuting over the past few months, both rosters (Raw and SmackDown) are rebuilding their talent pool. While the new blood is a long way from getting over with the audience in general, it’s a start and does demonstrate the WWE is attempting to address the noticeable issues with roster depth. In the meantime, the returns of Chris Jericho and Brock Lesnar helped to add an immediate impact, both in terms of match quality and star power. That said, neither man is a long term solution. The returns of Kane and Alberto Del Rio helped more in a long term sense. The returns of Christian and Rey Mysterio (after his 60 day “vacation”) should help as well. So it begs the quesiton: Is the cupboard really bare anymore? No, but the talent will require time and patience to get to where it needs to be. Normally, there’s a ton of pressure to deliver results now, but I get the sense the WWE is being forced to have patience while the audience learns to accept the new blood coming into the WWE. Something to consider as well is the WWE worked a scary cycle from Survivor Series through WrestleMania where the talent at the top end of the card was looking thin. CM Punk ran roughshod over The Miz twice at TLC and Elimination Chamber, Cena took a hiatus from a payperview in December for the first time since Heavens knows when. Daniel Bryan, arguably the best wrestler in the company, worked a memorable sequence with...Santino Marella at Elimination Chamber. But was this really noticeable to the fans who paid hard earned cash for the privilege of watching these events? In a sense, yes and no. Buyrates in general were down slightly, but not as much as one would expect. The WWE’s latent fears about TLC being the lowest bought event last year proved false (179,000 buys for TLC vs. 140,000 buys for Over The Limit last year). So while the signals are mixed, the WWE does need to have faith in the current generation of stars, which leads to the next payperview, Over The Limit. More or less, this will be a proving ground for some talents in their ability to draw. WWE Champion CM Punk already has some faith from the folks behind the curtain in the fact he headlined TLC and it proved to not bomb. Consider also he's the longest reigning WWE Champion since Triple H. However, talents like Sheamus, Daniel Bryan and, to a lesser extent, Del Rio are going to be asked to step up to the plate. In one sense, any issues with buyrates and ratings can’t be put onto the talents themselves. They can only work the scripts and angles they are given and do the best they can, right? However, a wrestler, in the end run, has to make any promotion money in either a real or perceived fashion. That’s just fact. And before the “Survivor Series buyrateMiz heat” rumor is brought up, let me just say I don’t buy that for one damn minute. The upcoming Over The Limit payperview will be a trial for Sheamus and Bryan, and to a lesser extent, Del Rio. With Cena going after Laurinaitis in what is almost sure to be an inconsequential match, the onus will be on Title matches to deliver. Punk vs. Bryan, on paper, could be a classic. Their series of matches on TV in March was some of the better TV matches this year. Without a clean resolution to their matches, the WWE was wise to save any clean result for a payperview. If given an adequate build and enough time, it should easily be a Top Five match this year. Sheamus vs. Del Rio will be a bit different. The perceived abilities of those two is a notch below both Punk and Bryan, but that’s not to say that either man is bad. Far from it. Both are skilled enough to give a very good match with the right opponent and both men are technically sound. If given time, the match should deliver. The under card is shaping up to be little weak, with Big Show going after Rhodes again for the Intercontinental Title and a possible match of Epico and Primo vs. Kingston and Truth. Neither match overly excites me (particularly Show vs. Rhodes), but I’m sure they will do what they can. With the build towards Summerslam set to unofficially gear up in a few weeks, Over The Limit might be nothing more than a transitional payperview. However, the top of the card looks strong enough to justify the money to view it. With the new talent cycle picking up steam in earnest, the WWE doesn’t have a choice really. Column: SmackDown Critique and Thoughts 5/4/12

WWE SmackDown originated from Toledo, Ohio. As always, you can check out WWE.com for the video recaps. The Blue Brand would need to the fallout from a dizzying 24 hours earlier this week. During the Extreme Rules payperview, Daniel Bryan challenged Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship. Though he lost, the confrontation was nearly classic and could arguably be the match that really launched his career to new heights. After that, on Raw, Bryan won the right to face CM Punk at Over The Limit for the WWE Championship. In the meantime, Sheamus would look to close his feud with Bryan and move on new competition. Orton and Kane would also look to continue their “Family Values” angle that would be worthy of the Addams Family. Let’s Go! The Good Opening Segment. Sheamus opened the segment discussing his love of fisticuffs, which actually came across well. Sheamus’ play with the crowd during the ‘“Yes!” chants was kind of nice to see. The two opened up appropriately, with Bryan going after Sheamus’ “injured” shoulder. Bryan did well in focusing on offense on that area. Del Rio’s interference wasn’t unexpected, but it served as a good lead in the pending feud between him and Sheamus. This wasn’t an entirely bad segment, though it could have been better. That said, the follow up with Sheamus being looked at by the Doctor helped to sell the devastation of the Yes Lock and Cross Armbreaker. Sheamus’ “Damn it!” was a nice touch. Kingston and Truth vs. Hunico and Camacho. This seemed like it would be an enhancement affair for the new Tag Team Champions. The “Lilttle Jimmy” slap spot was worth a chuckle. The leap into the Crossbody by Truth and Kofi was nice to see. Camacho no sold Kofi’s attempted punches. Hunico looked good in his time on offense. Kofi and Truth looked good in their few improvised moves. Good match to showcase the champs on TV. Epico and Primo watching hinted at the possibility of the feud in the future. *¼ Laurinaitis vs. Cena Video Segment. The video package was good to showcase the match at Over The Limit. Honestly, I don’t have much hope for this match, but it was an alright package none the less. Orton and Show vs. Kane and Rhodes. Rhodes and Orton opened up with the usual spots for them. Rhodes did a nice job selling for Show and playing off his fear of the big man. The angle was bad on the Orton’s Drop Kick to Rhodes. Kane hit a nice looking DDT on Show. Coming back from the break, Rhodes and Orton had a nice exchange. A right hand is not a finisher. Otherwise, alright action *¼ Sheamus vs. Bryan. The injury angle with Sheamus served as an alright plothook for the show. The opened with a nice exchange of offense. Bryan did a nice job controlling Sheamus in the early going. Sheamus nailed a nice, improvised Backbreaker. Bryan looked strong in the first half the match. Alright story to the match. Sheamus worked with his usual spots and reverted to using his arm a bit more than he should have. The ending helped to blow off the feud while catalyzing the feud with Del Rio. The angle was a bad and showed the Brogue Kick missing Bryan. Alright TV main event otherwise. *½ The Meh Sandow vs. Bateman. Bateman got the jobber entrance. Sandow cut an alright promo prior to leaving the ring. At least Bateman got a nice payday for doing nothing. Bateman sounded alright as well. Ryback’s heat was obviously canned. Otherwise, standard match for Ryback. That said, this wasn’t entirely awful as it let Sandow, Ryback, and Bateman get some important face time on TV. ½ The Bad Natalya vs. Layla. The gals opened with a nice display of matwork. Natalya looked good in her time on offense. Layla had a nice looking finish. Too short, but there is some promise there. ½* Clay vs. Swagger. Clay displayed some nice genre savvy with his headbutt as Ziggler was coming off from steps. Otherwise, nothing to note in this segment. ¼* Random Thoughts “Does Sheamus have a pulse?” Hunico didn’t come out cutting a promo. Not that I usually listen to it anyway. A tag team feud possibility? Hmm. “Get out.” Talk dirty to me, Eve. Why do wrestlers always go for a Back Bodydrop when they never, ever hit it. Hunter Hurst Sandow? “What?” “Thank you for your irrelevant opinion.” Lulz. Over The Shoulder Boulder Holder? “My name is Finlay..err...Sheamus, and I love to fight.” Hmm. Divas throwing matwork? “Hit me! Hit me! Come on, hit me!” Sheamus O'Cena Final Grade: B This was a good program tonight overall. I'm a big believer in not wasting time on TV and that each segment should serve some purpose, either with a adequate match or advancing an angle. As such, this was a good program overall with some decent matches for TV and some movement forward in a few storylines. One thing the WWE needs to watch is to not book Bryan too weakly going into the next payperview. His match with Sheamus at Extreme Rules was one of the best this year and a candidate for Match Of The Year for the WWE. The match with Punk could be even better, but the build needs to be done correctly to do it service. The match tonight was good enough to blow off the feud with Sheamus and allow both men to move on. In March, Punk worked very hard to put Bryan on the same level as he is. Here's hoping the 'E remembers that. Aside from that, a few botched camera angles gave the wrong impression on a few of the moves, with the Brogue Kick spots being the most glaring. The WWE isn't usually that clumsy with their spots, so they might want to watch it in the future. These are just niggles though. Solid program tonight and a good rebound effort from last week fiasco of a wrestling program.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has taken to his official Twitter page for another questionandanswer session with fans. Below are highlights: When asked by a fan if he felt Michael Cole was a good commentator, Ross stated that he did feel that Cole was being very good as of late. He reminded fans that Cole has a role that he has to play and that he plays it well. Ross also indicated that the upcoming WWE '13 video game will feature more than two commentators, but didn't indicate as to who the possible third commentator would be. A fan told Ross that he wanted to see him call action with Joey Styles just for one match. Ross stated that he and Styles have discussed it and we'll do it someday.

Vince McMahon Furious With WWE.com Staff, Wants Backstage Changes

The Wrestling Observer reports that WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon is apparently furious with the staff of WWE.com because of the recent hype for WrestleMania 29. There was a day where McMahon met with Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey, and no one from WWE.com was there to cover, photograph, or film the meeting. Furthermore, McMahon has been quoted as saying that from now on, he wants WWE writers and producers to communicate more, as well as more rehearsals at all WWE television tapings and Live Tour events. Sources report that there has been a lot of fingerpointing recently involving John Cena's promo at the Extreme Rules payperview event, as well as Brock Lesnar nearly getting injured during the same show. Reports suggest that from this point forward, WWE content will be more rigidly scripted and McMahon will have the final say over nearly everything.

How Well Did Extreme Reunion Do Financially?

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that The Franchise Shane Douglas's Extreme Reunion event actually did fairly well financially, drawing about 1,700 people and earning a total of a little less than $75,000. Overall these numbers are considered to be successful for an indy show. This has to be considered a good sign for them moving forward, as they have made it known that they plan on having more events in the future and starting up at least a parttime promotion.

The status of TNA's Indian promotion Ring Ka King is still up in the air at this point. The ratings it drew were considered decent, but not great, so it's up to the Colors Network and Endemol to decide if they want to renew it for a second season. The discussions are still ongoing right now. Regarding All Wheels Wrestling, TNA originally tried to get it on the Speed Network, but they didn't want it. Then they approached Fuel TV, but Fuel has become more of a mixed martial arts/cagefighting channel, so they didn't want it either. As of right now, All Wheels Wrestling is still being pitched to various other networks and it's unknown what AWW's future holds at the moment.

WWE Wants More Amateur Wrestlers, News About NXT/Superstars

WWE is in negotiations with the site Hulu.com about having the WWE NXT and Superstars programs become exclusive to Hulu. They may also include an FCW program as part of the deal. Speaking of FCW, Terry Taylor has been in FCW for over a week now, but it's being said that his official job title is somewhat unclear. The FCW stars were told that nothing will be changing very much except for the TV tapings, which will now take place in Winter Park, Florida. WWE Hall of Famer and road agent Gerald Brisco has been put in charge of looking for amateur wrestlers to possibly sign with WWE. Brisco was apparently in attendance at the 2012 Olympic trials in Iowa City some time last week and came across two wrestlers that caught his eye, including a monster of a wrestler who stands at 6'5 and over 280 pounds. The amateur wrestler is said to be a GrecoRoman style wrestler, and he was said to have some interest in Brisco's offer, but the only drawback is that he speaks very little English, as he is from Turkey.

Former WWE, WCW, and TNA Impact Wrestling star Scott Hall was recently arrested and accused of choking his girlfriend while he was intoxicated. These charges have been dropped and Scott Hall will not be facing any jail time. Hall's lawyer told TMA that charges were dismissed and/or rejected by the prosecutor due to insufficient evidence. As part of their First Quarter earnings report for 2012, WWE announced that the 2012 Royal Rumble payperview event drew 443,000 buys, which is down from last year's 446,000 buys and 2010's 462,000 buys. They also announced that the 2012 Elimination Chamber payperview event drew 178,000 buys, which is down from last year's 199,000 buys and 2010's 285,000 buys. Furthermore, WWE announced that the actual number of buys for WrestleMania 28 would not be reported until the company's Second Quarter earnings report in a few months. Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon had previously stated that the event did around 1.3 million buys.

The exact start dates and end dates of the Attitude Era is debatable, but many people might say that it began in the year 1997, with the formation of DGeneration X, the rise of Stone Cold Steve Austin, the rivalry between the Brothers of Destruction (The Undertaker and Kane), and the Montreal Screwjob involving Vince McMahon, Bret The Hitman Hart, and Shawn Michaels. WWE.com has added the former World Championship Wrestling and Total Nonstop Action Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion Sting to their Alumni section. This is somewhat surprising considering that Sting has never been under contract with WWE at any time in his career, and he is currently a TNA Impact Wrestling contracted performer. WWE usually doesn't acknowledge anybody on the TNA roster. WWE.com has been adding a lot of content about wrestling history lately since the site's relaunch. WWE officials were said to be concerned about the amount of blood that John Cena was losing during his match against Brock Lesnar at the Extreme Rules payperview. It's also being reported that they were more worried about Cena than they were about protecting Lesnar's image and aura. WWE NXT General Manager William Regal has announced that he is looking to bring new stars onto the program, but he didn't say who. Expect to see more talent, probably from WWE's Florida Championship Wrestling, make their debut on NXT soon.

Ultimate Warrior Talks About His Relationship w/ McMahon Family

The Ultimate Warrior recently talked with MLW Radio and gave insight about the relationship that he originally had with Vince McMahon and his family: For me it was really unique, maybe more unique than for anybody else. Whenever I would go to Stamford, I didn't stay at a hotel. I just went straight out to Vince's house, Vince and Linda's home. Shane was there at the time. He was in high school. I had a big brother, little brother relationship with him. That's the way that I would describe it. I was very close to all of them. I remember taking long walks on the property out there with Vince. I remember talking about that even beyond the Ultimate Warrior's time as the champion or the thing of today that years down the road that he would still be Ultimate Warrior as a persona and me as a person would still be a part of this family. It was very close and very intimate. I don't think that it's like that at all today and I don't remember anybody else being given that courtesy or allowed that openness to their family as I was back then.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Brock Lesnar was informed by WWE officials several weeks ago that John Cena would go over him in their Extreme Rules Match at the recent WWE Extreme Rules payperview event. Lesnar had made it known that he was only about the money and also stated that he was fine with losing to Cena as long as WWE played fair with him. Officials in the company, according to sources, also made it very clear to both Cena and Lesnar that their feud would only be a onematch program, feeling that Lesnar could leave any time he wanted to and in order to make sure that happened, WWE would need their top Superstar (Cena) to pick up the win. It's highly expected that WWE will use Lesnar sparingly, if even at all, over the next few months because they have already used five of Lesnar's limited dates in the first month of his contract. Major Update On Rey Mysterio's Wellness Policy Violation

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Rey Mysterio, who is currently serving a 60day suspension from WWE due to his second Wellness Policy violation, was recently ordered to surrender all of the different medications that he was taking. Mysterio originally tested positive for amphetamines, but Mysterio was clueless as to why he would test positive for it in the first place. After testing the medications, the belief is that doctors think that a dietary supplement that Mysterio was taking in order to lose weight may have contained a small amount of amphetamines, which would explain the substance showing up in his system. Mysterio was suspended back on April 26th, but he actually tested positive for amphetamines back on February 13th. He will not be eligible to return to active competition in WWE until June 25th.

You have been warned. TNA Champion Bobby Roode comes to the ring to open the show. He claims that he will be the longest reigning champion in TNA history before being interrupted by Mr. Anderson, Rob Van Dam, and Jeff Hardy. Impact Wrestling GM Hulk Hogan then appears and announces that there will be a Fatal 4 Way Match as the main event, and that the winner will get a surprise. If either Anderson or Hardy win, they get RVD's scheduled title shot at Sacrifice. If Van Dam wins, he gets to name the type of match he has against Roode at Sacrifice. If Roode wins, he gets to choose his own opponent for Sacrifice. Brooke Tessmacher defeated Velvet Sky. After the match, Tessmacher was attacked by Knockout Champion Gail Kim. Up next was Matt Morgan vs. Crimson, but the match never took place due to Morgan being attacked by Bully Ray backstage. Crimson then forces ring announcer Christy Hemme to announce him as the winner of the match. XDivision Champion Austin Aries defeated Zema Ion in a nontitle match. Kazarian and Daniels make their way to the ring and announce the big secret of AJ Styles, which turns out to be photos of him kissing TNA President Dixie Carter. AJ appears shocked at the revelation. TNA Television Champion Devon defeated Robbie E to retain the title Backstage, Mr. Joseph Park, the brother of Abyss, gets laid out by Bully Ray. In the main event, Rob Van Dam defeated Mr. Anderson, Jeff Hardy, and TNA Champion Bobby Roode in a Fatal 4 Way Match. RVD then states that at Sacrifice, he wants to face Roode in a Ladder Match for the title. Abyss then make a surprise appearance on the entrance stage and declares that he is back in TNA.

Bryan and Del Rio then begin arguing, and backstage trainers come down to the ring to check on Sheamus. WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & RTruth defeated Hunico & Camacho in a nontitle match. Epico, Primo, Rosa Mendes, and Abraham Washington watched the match from the entrance stage. Brodus Clay defeated Jack Swagger by disqualification after interference from Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler was hit with a headbutt from Brodus before he and Swagger retreated to the backstage area. In a backstage segment, Daniel Bryan and Alberto Del Rio are seen arguing over who should get a shot against Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship. WWE.com has posted a new article which sugests that Lesnar may seek legal action against the company because of COO Triple H ruling Lesnar's recent contract demands null and void on account of RAW & SmackDown General Manager John Laurinaitis not having the authority to agree to terms such as those. The article also suggests that the Board of Directors may take action themselves against Lesnar for his assault on Triple H. Details On Orton's Original Replacement For The Marine 3

PWInsider.com reports that it wasn't The Miz who was originally cast as the lead in the upcoming movie The Marine: Homefront. Once Randy Orton was removed from the film, WWE Champion CM Punk was pegged to star in the film. Vince McMahon vetoed that decision, as he could not afford to keep Punk off WWE television. The storyline of the movie was changed to reflect The Miz's youthful appearance, so that his character is chasing terrorists who kidnapped his niece. The film will begin shooting in Vancouver, British Columbia on June 11th for 20 days.

A strong rumor suggests that Dustin Runnels, better known as Goldust has been released from his WWE contract according to a number of sources. A week ago Kevin Nash tweeted a dear friend had been let go by WWE and Runnels appears to be that friend. Runnels was a producer for the SmackDown brand and was last seen on RAW Supershow on April 9th, 2012 when he and other WWE officials attempted to break up the brawl between Brock Lesnar and John Cena. Runnels has been promoting a new twitter account of late @DRHODESSAYS moving away from his WWE account @WWEGoldust which is followed by 180,000 fans. His latest WWE release will be his fith: 1991 to join WCW; he left WCW in ‘95 to return to WWE. 1999 to return to WCW; he left WCW in 2001 to return to WWE. 2003, where he would work the Independent Circuit and TNA until returning to the WWE in 2005. 2006, when he left for Japan and another brief TNA run. More WWE releases are expected in the coming weeks.

For those who watched Monday Night Raw last night, you may have noticed the awkward finish to the Big Show/Chris Jericho match that ended with a countout. Chris Jericho was actually supposed to win the match by one second, but the referee botched the count. This could be partly blamed on WWE's policy that they've been doing over the past few years of not telling the referee who is supposed to win the match. The referees are told to be legit and to officiate the matches as legit referees, thus the referee probably didn't know that Jericho was supposed to win. Jim The Anvil Neidhart, who was arrested a few months back, had a hearing a few weeks ago and will be going to the Tampa Salvation Army rehab center. He is still currently in jail but will go to rehab as soon as they have room for him. There is said to be a lot of heat from WWE management directed at Rey Mysterio right now. Rey was recently suspended for violating WWE's drug policy, and the gossip is that he's being paid enough money to rest and relax at home that he shouldn't have had to take any banned substances. It's also rumored that Kevin Nash's mysterious Tweet from a few days ago about WWE releasing a good friend of his might be about Mysterio, but as of last word WWE has NOT fired Mysterio and he is just serving a 60day suspension.

Column: Of Rybacks, Goldbergs, and Geeks

“Goldberg. Goldberg. Goldberg.” In some ways, I feel bad for the WrestlerFormerlyKnownAsSkip Sheffield. The guy is massive. Standing 6’3” and a shade over 290 lbs., he possesses a plethora of power moves to match his impressive physique. He’s a typical talent in the mold of Vince McMahon’s ideal personification of a wrestler. Vince was always one to believe that a guy should look like he could kick your butt. In truth, there is some logic to that thinking. In a “Universe” where gimmicks and wrestlers are larger than life, the easier it is for fans to suspend disbelief, the easier it is for a guy to get over. Talents like Triple H, Undertaker, John Cena, Batista and others have made a living, partially, off their Greek Pantheon worthy physiques. So when rumors came that Skip Sheffield would be repackaged as a Terminator inspired wrestler, it seemed to hold some promise, right? In truth, it worked to a degree in the Indy circuits and helped him gain notoriety. The issue becomes, however, how cartoonish the gimmick really is and how it’s the wrong inspiration for this day and age. Look at certain wrestlers like Brodus Clay. When he was set to return, he was to be an unstoppable, no selling monster. Fine, I could see that. The guy is menacing in his look, massive in his size, and impressive with what he can do with that bulk. However, as time passed, he came back as the “Funkasaurus.” Stunning. However, it’s an easy sell with the younger demographics and the gimmick isn’t without merit. Personally, I loath the gimmick, but i get it’s corny charm. Clay has seemingly embraced it as his own (with some help from his momma) and possesses a decent enough victory over Dolph Ziggler. I lament about the lack of a decent feud and angle for him, but that will come with time. There is something about the Ryback gimmick that I don’t think connects with the audience. Technically, there isn’t anything wrong with Ryback’s moveset. His has a ton of power moves, seems to take care of his opponents in the ring, and does his levelheaded best to sell the thing, but he generates absolutely no heat at all. There are some issues that need to be addressed though, or at least tweaked. The first is the Terminatorinspired artwork on his singlet and his Titantron. If James Cameron doesn’t know about yet, I’m sure he will soon. However, the entire thing is too cartoonish to target the older fans, and it tends to leave the kids behind who aren’t familiar with the franchise. Clay’s gimmick has charm. Ryback’s is a copyright infringement. The second is his catchphrases. “Finish him!” and “Beast Mode!” are rip offs from the “Mortal Kombat” and “Transformers” series, respectively. While there is little wrong with using these phrases (WWE Champion takes “It’s clobberin’ time!” from Thing of “Fantastic Four” fame), the usages are to the overthetop and cartoonish to be effective. Again, it comes down to charm and ripping off. Simply put, they are all wrong for the character. When Goldberg first debuted with WCW in the late 90s, there was a mystique to the character that helped him become a massive success. He was quiet, menacing, straightforward, and punishing. He helped to dismantle the dreaded NWO stable and struck a chord with the fans that connected. Why? Because he was a believable badass. Which leads me to the biggest issue with the Ryback gimmick. Granted, this is a different day and age with nearly a 15 year difference, but the point remains. The gimmick, for all the parallels it should be drawing with the Goldberg persona, is too watered down with sprinkles of video game and cartoon references. Basically, it becomes the antithesis of real life badass. No one buys a geek could kill you in a street fight. Goldberg, who is a direct inspiration for the character, was a believable badass. Ryback, to date, is not. Yelling “Finish Him!” before nailing your dreaded finishing maneuver isn’t cool. It’s painful. Simply put, I just hope Vince McMahon is paying attention. Chicago’s openly mocking “Goldberg!” chant is a signal that the gimmick must be tweaked. Otherwise, WrestleCrap will have a new induction and the WrestlerFormerlyKnownAsSkip Sheffield’s career will be finished before it really begins in the WWE. Some things work in the Indys that don’t work in the WWE. This is one of them. “Goldberg! Goldberg! Goldberg!”

Update on Chris Jericho Leaving WWE In A Few Months

It's been reported ever since Chris Jericho returned to WWE back in January that he would probably take another break from WWE some time over the summer. He recently stated at the Revolver Golden God Awards that he would be touring with his band Fozzy over the summer and could possibly miss WWE's 2012 SummerSlam payperview. In yet another update on the situation, the band Fozzy announced today on the Rockstar Uproar Tour that Jericho will be leaving WWE by the month of August to tour with Fozzy between the dates of August 15th and September 30th. If this is the only time that Jericho has to tour with Fozzy, then he very well could be back by the 2012 Survivor Series PPV, if not well before then.

Big Backstage Update on Brock Lesnar: Temper Tantrum, Heat w/ WWE Officials, More...

After last night's edition of WWE Monday Night Raw where Brock Lesnar assaulted WWE COO Triple H, Lesnar has been written out of WWE storylines for the time being and it's uncertain when exactly he'll be back. Ringside commentators Michael Cole and Jerry The King Lawler heavily suggested that Lesnar would/should be fired for his actions. At this time, Brock Lesnar's future with WWE is very uncertain and has been described as being a sticky situation. He didn't make any friends backstage at the Extreme Rules payperview either, despite having a wellreceived match with John Cena. Lesnar apparently went nuts backstage and threw a temper tantrum because he was upset about the whole match. Allegedly, the original plan was for Lesnar to physically destroy Cena and have Cena get carried out of the arena on a stretcher, making Lesnar look like a dominant force. But because Cena picked up the victory and was able to stand up and give a speech after the match, Lesnar feels that WWE made Lesnar look weak. Lesnar also accused Cena of trying to blow out Lesnar's knee when Cena pulled down the top ring rope at some point during the match where both Cena and Lesnar fell outside to the floor. There are some people backstage in WWE who suspected that Lesnar's temper tantrum backstage was all part of an act to make WWE officials bend over backwards for him and give him whatever he wants. He allegedly tore up the backstage area in a fit of rage that some people thought was all part of a performace to try to intimidate WWE officials into meeting his demands. As of right now, a match between Brock Lesnar and Triple H is being planned for the 2012 SummerSlam payperview, but it was also previously reported that Lesnar would be engaging in a feud against Randy Orton. These plans have seemingly been called off, at least for right now. And as for Lesnar's longterm future with WWE, he might or might not participate at the 2013 Royal Rumble PPV, but he is definitely still expected to participate at WrestleMania 29 in 2013. After that though, there is a good chance that Lesnar will probably be finished with WWE.

On Extreme Rules: WWE Extreme Rules in Chicago on PPV delivered a stellar product Sunday night. I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation and watched the last match while STANDING in my living room. Yep, I'm still a fan and loved what I saw in the physically demanding final bout. I had to get out of my chair and walk around. On John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar: John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar was a gut check of the human spirit. Lesnar had been out of a WWE ring for approximately eight years and many, including me, wondered how ring rust would affect the former UFC and WWE Heavyweight Champion's performance. Some uninformed fans felt that being in the Octagon and being in a WWE ring were similar but they are far from it for a variety of reasons. Lesnar was impressive especially while on offense and delivered some of the most unique and wicked strikes and submissions that I've ever seen in WWE. Cena survived the supreme gut check after sustaining, obviously, a hellacious beating. I knew that Cena was a tough kid back when we signed him. On Brock Lesnar losing: For displeased Lesnar fans, no one is unbeatable in WWE, or any where else for that matter, and one loss doesn't sink Brock's Battleship. Far from it. I remember a guy named Austin who seemingly didn't win a match for a year and ended up doing o.k. The genre of sports entertainment is about execution and effort and not simply about wins and losses. Yes, it's better to win but losing isn't the proverbial kiss of death in sports entertainment as some knee jerkers espouse. On Antonio Cesaro: In my opinion, Antonio Cesaro is going to be an impact player in WWE and it could happen sooner than some think based on what I've seen of the Swede in the ring. He's another guy that has traveled the world and paid his dues in hopes of making it to the top level of his vocation and I fully expect Cesaro to take advantage of the opportunity. He's focused, in great shape, deceptively strong, and wrestles a unique style.

WWE Studios is working on two new WWE films that will feature WWE Superstars Mike The Miz Mizanin, Eve Torres, The Funkasaurus Brodus Clay, and current WWE Champion C.M. Punk. The first film will be a French film called Les Reines du ring (Queen of the Ring). This film is about a French woman who attempts to strengthen her relationship with her son, a big WWE fan, by training to become a WWE Diva. Also, as previously reported for months now, Brodus Clay is scheduled to star in WWE Studios' new horror film, No One Lives.

Below is the official storyline update on Triple H's broken arm which he received at the hands of Brock Lesnar on last night's RAW Supershow: According to WWE doctor Dr. Chris Amann, Triple H's arm was placed in a hold that created a tremendous amount of torque on his upper arm and elbow. He has a nondisplaced fracture of distal humorous, said Amann. Fortunately, this is not something that needs surgery with pins and screws. We'll be treating him with a sling for comfort and following with him in the next few days.

Sin Cara is going to be returning to WWE very soon according to WWE's Spanish announce team last night on Monday Night Raw. They announced that Sin Cara will be returning in May when WWE heads to Mexico. It is still possible that he could return some time before then, but he is expected to be back very soon either way.

First of all, I have a strong reason why I must defeat Lord Tensai. As in my Japanese lesson, tensai means natural disaster. As everyone knows, Japan experienced a major earthquake and tsunami on March 11th of last year. More than 15,000 people lost their lives, over 5,000 people are still missing, and more than 5,000 people were injured. In addition, over 130,000 people lost their homes. Sadly, the recovery has been very slow. Many people are still living in temporary housing, without jobs. Moreover,the Japanese people haven't been able to recover from the grief of losing family members,including children who lost their parents. Out of respect, I strongly urge Lord Tensai to change his name. As Japanese superstar of WWE, I cannot tolerate him using this name during Japanese appearance. Even though he is tremendously big and very strong, I will defeat him someday. Japan was defeated by natural disasters – “TENSAI”. And I, Yoshi Tatsu is the one who defeats that “TENSAI”.
